The more things I've made, the less I've been interested in publicly criticizing the things that other people make, because once you make a few things you start to understand what a miracle it is that anything gets made at all

Posting some context for my sphinx designs since this is a new platform from the one they were introduced on and there's new eyes here. They basically came from a school assignment depicting metamorphosis. Baby cupids mature into sphinxes...

nothing will ever compare to the pure ecstasy of looking at your own creation and going "holy fuck, did *I* draw this?!"
no matter the skill level or the medium (replace with sculpted/composed/wrote/etc). it's that joy of seeing a result you never expected from yourself that keeps most artists going

allow yourself to learn art for no reason, no goal, no project, no deadline. it will be the most pleasant experience. the freedom to figure out challenging curves is going to be the most rewarding feeling.

doing art for the sake of doing art is good for the soul and you should be doing it regardless of how much practice you've put in

Apparently I need to spell it out for some people: yes, I believe mass embrace of the following themes like generational trauma and cultural expectations through a non-western, non-male lens can positively influence a generation of kids.
