I had a wonderful time in Japan with my parents a month or so ago. I’ll be sharing a video of my travels soon but a word of caution … it’s a long video. Potentially my longest video that I’ve edited so far for YouTube.

In two months, KOTESOL will be holding their largest event of the year - the International Conference. Make sure you save the date and see you there if you can make it!

Last night, I went out for a Japanese style meal with my good wife. It was flaming delicious.

In Seoul today to meet up with some peeps and edit a video. Great fun.

That’s amazing. I’ll have to find this and share with my students. Funnily enough we looked at Wales and the different places to visit as well as the patron saint. 😃

This afternoon, I got my students to work on a weekly project to plan a trip to the U.K., and each afternoon we look at a particular country of the U.K.. I’m looking forward to seeing their pamphlet next week.

I started my YouTube channel back in 2012 when I wanted to document one of my experimental teaching practices for my MA. Fast forward to 2025, and I still make videos.

However, after many years, I became monetised, but how much do I get paid?

At the beginning of 2024, one my aims was for my YouTube Channel to get to 20,000 subscribers by the end of the year. It was tough but doable and I eventually achieved it with a few days to spare.

I grew up Danny Boyle's "28 Days Later" and loved it. I can't wait for his latest instalment of "28 Years Later" and watching the trailer, I wonder if Cillian Murphy is the person hanging upside down as it has the protagonist's name (Jim(my)) from "28 Days Later".

This was the book that inspired me to focus my MA thesis on Dogme ELT / teaching unplugged. It was amazing to research and interview teachers about this philosophy of teaching in 2011.

The first sign of Christmas has arrived this morning in South Korea, with a light dusting of snow this morning. I certainly had to wrap up as I left home this morning as it felt incredibly cold.

Now I don’t feel so displeased when hearing the festive songs being played. Bring it on Mariah Carey!
