I keep thinking about a post last night that discussed the devaluation of art & craftsmanship and that a big part of that is absurd idea that being an artist is a "talent" that just happens rather than skills you work at and develop over a lifetime.

If you use AI to create your art, your story, your whatever, I immediately know you don’t care about making things — you only care about selling them.

CSP forums answer (user Elier) on how to create your own burn and dodge tool in Clip Studio Paint: "You can create your own highlight/burn tool by duplicating a brush (right click, duplicate sub tool). Then click on the wrench icon on the bottom right of the Tool Property pallete to open Sub Tool Detail. In the ink tab, go to Blending mode, and choose [Black burn] to burn, and [White burn] to highlight."

I spent years being annoyed Clip Studio Paint doesn't have a burn or dodge tool before seeing this answer on how to make it yourself on the CSP forums

By the way, as a creative, it's completely valid and absolutely natural to be thinking both "I CREATE FOR MYSELF AND THE JOY OF IT ALL" and "... but please please please like it please I hope they like it" at the same time

I feel like every artist needs to have it said, once in a while, so listen, if the drawing looks good to you, then it looks good and it's good. That's it, call it a day and enjoy!
