So true, e.g., did Truman ACTUALLY order the Nagasaki bomb? He was in the Atlantic Ocean on way home from the Potsdam conference when Gen. Graves sent the bomber it on it's way. Who REALLY made the decision to not wait more than 3 days for Japan's formal surrender? Always has bothered me.

A solo symphony performance, even in rehearsal, can produce intensity not usually. The spotlight, focused on the double bassist's hands and the music that flows from it, creates a whirlwind of motion, fingers dancing across the strings in a blur, his bow a silver streak against the dark wood.
