Great to hear the full version today. 👏
From one #Superman fan to another…
I’m excited for the next two weeks as our S2/3 ‘Character Ambassadors’ return to their primary schools to deliver an assembly to Primary 7 classes on our school value of empathy. I hope this will mark the beginning of many pupil engagement sessions on character with our Cluster schools.
Every single school should have a library & a librarian, to help every single child find the books that will make them readers, and give them all the lifelong benefits of literacy. Libraries & librarians change children's lives FOREVER!

Most recently, we carried out an experiment. The pupils then plotted model data and received and acted on feedback. They then processed their own data.

Etymology of the day: to be ‘blowing a hoolie’ (or ‘hooley’) was probably inspired by the Orkney word ‘hoolan’, a howling gale, with a touch of the ‘hooley’ that is a very noisy party thrown in.
As an addendum to this, it took four months to get this information, which would have been publicly available at the time of conviction.
The Times had to appoint counsel and attend a hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court to secure its release. That is not an expense all publishers can afford.
Hey #ChemEd #ChemSky On the days when teaching lab experiments fail to produce any data - what do you do?
Give the students model data? Get them to complete only part of the write up? Get them back another day? Or design assessments that don't rely on it?
Any thoughts?

"The proper education of the young does not consist in stuffing their heads with a mass of words, sentences, and ideas dragged together out of various authors, but in opening their understanding to the outer world, so that a living stream
may flow from their own minds" (John Amos Comenius, 1657)
The approach depends on the learning outcome e.g.:
For processing data (e.g., converting a table to a graph): I provide model data for practice. Afterward, they process their own data and receive feedback.
For developing evaluation skills: I use actual data as a reference point to guide discussions.

📢After a brief hiatus the UK appears to have an industrial strategy again! This is very welcome news!
🇬🇧The publication of the Green Paper is an important first step to securing long-term green growth for the UK: gov.uk/government/c...
👇A few thoughts on its content below
Excellent news that the government is significantly boosting public investment! Instead of falling by a third it's now roughly stable (0.7pp of GDP higher on average). Less than we recommended, but of crucial importance for raising growth.
The rate of poverty in the UK is currently higher than at any point in the 21st century. @pollardtom.bsky.social spoke to @bigissue.bsky.social
Every month the press makes a spectacle out of government borrowing figures - but borrowing doesn’t have to be scary. It’s a vital mechanism for investing in the things we need to build a strong economy that benefits everyone. 1/3

Thank you. 🙂
This feels like gaslighting by The Telegraph. The post seems designed to provoke responses from those with strong social justice values. The comments are (from what is shown) out of context, and the source—an energy CEO publicly challenging fossil fuel protectionism —feels deliberately targeted.

I was considering this possible statistical bias too, and you have addressed it.
If this bias does exist, why do you think more right leaning users would not follow you? Are they not interested in your insights on finance? It’s intriguing, as I did not think you would have a polarised audience.
You need to interview Greg Jackson, Octopus Energy. He is talking about the solution involving reforming the energy market. I think we need to hear this, otherwise all we get is more circus politics that does not cut through to solving the problem.
Good morning,
What do you think of Greg Jackson’s input (BBC Today), where he suggests that the solution is to restructure the energy market to a local pricing model? His position, if I understood him correctly, is that everyone’s prices would be reduced by removing market inefficiencies.
Thank you. I did not know about it until the media started talking about the huge influx of users. Pleasantly surprised.
Refreshing to hear Greg Jackson, CEO of #OctopusEnergy, discuss energy pricing in the UK on BBC Radio 4 Today. He changes the predictable media framing of the energy market. I hope the government takes onboard the ideas presented for restructuring the energy market to a local pricing model.
