oh yeah I also got recently slapped in the face by a random gem from my childhood suddenly showing up on steam like a jumpscare

Wouldn't have foundy without being pointed to moby. I just filtered all I knew about it and checked the 8 or so results I got.
Also this goofy game has a "boss mode" that minimizes it and makes the taskbar look like microsoft word if you're playing in the office. Absolute product of its time.

I guess to narrow it down even more, it was 2d (or I'm fairly certain it was), on windows PC, most likely released before 2005. My worry is that it might've been a small unknown indie game.

Did not expect to find such a huge list of them, unfortunately I remember very little of it other than it was a game I grabbed from a random website on PC that shared all kinds of games for download free and not. Might've been an italian website too to add to the confusion.
