Tatjana Wood has passed at age 99. Her huge body of work in comics is legendary. I was lucky enough to collaborate with her on Swamp Thing. Special talent and special lady!

You may be reading just a little too much into it. While there's an obvious nod to Shang Chi here the other characters while not exactly created from whole cloth we're not meant to be stand ins for the characters you mention.
