The medical plastics market is predicted to grow 10% each year and be worth over $40 billion by 2028. Most of this growth is in single-use items - many of which end up in landfill or burnt

There are some who argue that medical uses should have an exemption from a production cap that the #PlasticsTreaty aims to impose. The @who.int is not one of them though – they actually oppose a blanket exemption

Advanced tech and materials like these make an incredible contribution to our quality of life. But plastic production is set to triple by 2050 and in doing so use up a third of the global carbon budget.

So we need to do everything we can to stop this crazy expansion of plastic production.
