a series of quilt squares in orange, pink, and blue

I am making quilts and just-for-fun websites until the print shop thaws. I am making lots and lots of mistakes and I am dangerously near Baltimore's most bougie quilt shop.

Text: Greater Prairie Wyrm

Image: a snake-like dragon with a pointed bird-like snout is curled amongst dry grasses and bushes, its tail curled around an old stone marker from the early settler period. A wire fence and trees in the background indicate a vast field.

Tangentially related but modern sailing right-of-way rules are also absolutely wild. There are situations that would require a full chapter of reading (memorized of course!) about wind conditions, boat size, etc. to determine who has to shift course (and you need to know it in a split second)

Oh hey I'm like a block away from here! (Any chance you're the neighbor who asked if I thought you had shoveled enough to get your car out? J-have to ask just in case!)

Small Works: 'If you've a printing press, you should use [it]. You hear a lot about the power of the press [re:Letterpress]...Whether it's for Gaza, Sudan, or against ICE, we need to be printing...I want to say "now" is the time, but it's all the time. Print for your folk, friends, your community'

I <3 #Mastodon! In my non-art life it's the only social media I use except for Signal stories.

It's not as "good" for commercial purposes and the whole "growing an audience thing." But the world is on fire and I am more into meaningful connections than growth

Right!? Like Paul with the Vandy's. At least it would be easier to have something going forward (if Penland wanted to offer keeping a record to students/residents)

A brand new hand-coded website! I'm getting my ducks in a row to finally leave Instagram and focus on my presence on the open web and in-person events.

Coding and making letterpress gifs is fun it turns out

My school has no budget for the transportation, even if the museum is free

Many of us are ALSO professional artists! It's exhausting, but we exist. Field trip budgets are almost non-existent for my school, but I Zoom people in when I can and show them how artists earn a living - sales, commissions, shows, juried events, etc.

Here are 4 original wood engravings by John De Pol from the portfolio of broadsides, Portfolio One/1983: Ten Illustrated Poetry Broadsides by Morris A. Gelfand. De Pol provided engravings for the title page and for poems by Susan Astor, Joyce Carol Oates, & William Stafford.

I love reading them since I'm new here and trying to orient myself to the city. So appreciated!
