The costs to run the mail program at the Red Cross are greatly outweighed by the financial return which allows us to run our programs and services. However, we understand not everyone wants to receive our mailings. 1/3
Over 100 volunteers and 18 emergency vehicles took part, completing 26 simulated emergency cases in just over an hour. Exercises like this build coordination, confidence, and resilience - ensuring communities are better prepared when disasters strike.
Recently, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent carried out an earthquake simulation in Latakia - an essential step in strengthening emergency readiness. Supported by the Canadian Red Cross, teams trained to respond to a 7.0‑magnitude quake and manage mass‑casualty scenarios.
The Tumbler Ridge Tragedy Appeal will help support those affected by the devastating events of the past week. 100% of the money raised will be used to help meet the needs and address the impacts on individuals, families, and communities, including direct and immediate financial assistance.
