Sutton Peregrines. 1/2. I wasn't expecting to see the adult female and the juvenile male having a courtship display, as happened this afternoon, but I suppose it's all part of growing up! Both adults continue to accept his presence, at least for now. #londonwildlife #birds

Garden birding. What I presume is the same Blackbird that I saw two days ago spent quite a while in the garden today, often just standing and listening for potential prey. The fallen leaves will likely be helping him in this respect. #londonbirds #birds

A cheeky lunchtime visit today and spotted one of the males.

He was sat above a group of very vocal teal on the River Lea.

Great capture! I also saw one at Darlands. Unfortunately, just as it landed, a dog came along barking, and scared it off again. No time for a photo :(

We had a late brood of kingfishers down on the River Lea - this youngster was one of four which fledged.

Watch as it bobs and chirps just a few metres away - fledglings are so tame.

A rather slender, brown coloured bug on the underside of a piece of wood, sitting head down. There is a pale line down the centre of the bugs head. It's legs are pale with dark speckling. The bug's antennae are folded back; they have dark basal segments but are reddish in the middle and then have dark tips.

Well, it's taken a long time but I've finally found my first Slender-horned Leatherbug (Ceraleptus lividus). This one was under a fallen branch at NWT Sweet Briar Marshes on Monday.
