Started watching YOUR FRIENDS & NEIGHBORS. This show makes no sense, as someone has to be mentally ill to cheat on Jon Hamm. ๐Ÿ˜’

This is the kind of thing a rich CEO says at the beginning of a science fiction movie to establish for the audience that he is a sociopath and the villain.

Our neighborhood is graced by one full-grown St. Bernard and a new arrival, a 16-month-old coal-black Newfoundland who's big even by breed standards. Cheering myself up about this snowstorm by reflecting that they're both about to have the best 36 hours of their lives.

Dear New Yorkers: On the eve of a new snow storm, I, a proud dog parent, would like to remind you that you still HAVE TO pick up after your ๐Ÿฆฎ. Yes, even in bad weather. Bag the ๐Ÿ’ฉ & carry it to the nearest trash can. Pretty please, try to be a better citizen for your neighbors.

I for one cannot ever imagine Don wanting to go back to McCann.

The end.

Then again, just an episode earlier, he was asked to fix a Coke (vending) machine. Maybe he did that, & then also fixed THE Coke Machine?

Anyway, itโ€™s brilliant that the most obvious answer here doesnโ€™t have to be THE answer. What Don did with the rest of his life is in the eye of the beholder.

What I really think? Peggy wrote the Coke ad. Don found something else, a path forward in a changed world of easy riders. & Peggy, using her spot-on creativityโ€”& harnessing what he picked up from Donโ€”packaged that changed world, happily living her own truth in both work & love.

Finished the rewatch of #MADMEN โ€”what I feel mimics the first time around (but with a deeper understanding of Don): I know I witnessed one of the greatest shows ever created, & Iโ€™m deeply sad that it ended.

Also, hereโ€™s definitive proof that Don did not write the Coke ad. 1/894

In this country, youโ€™re strangely expected to be in a fan club for the officials you elected. Itโ€™s entirely possible to support/vote for progressive candidates, AND demand more and better when they fall short. This city truly forgot about Upper Manhattan a while ago. Hope Mamdani changes this.

21.02.2026 15:10 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Iโ€™m not exaggerating when I say that walking anywhere in my neighborhood rn feels like the Shawshank Redemption sewage crawl. Street cleaners barely come here. And since the snow, nothing, not even after they restarted the alternate side parking. Someone tell the city to take pride in Harlem a bit.

21.02.2026 14:13 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Love Mamdani beyond words. But itโ€™s slightly frustrating to see him claim that the city is ready for snow. Maybe some areas are. But here in the perennially abandoned Harlem, weโ€™re still swimming in knee-deep trash & no one cares.

Letโ€™s elect great people like him. And then demand better from them.

One of my husbandโ€™s childhood friends is in the restaurant biz in London. He spent a lot of time here in the past year to open the NY branch of a popular London spot. He couldnโ€™t believe how costly it is to dine out in the US, even in average places. & this guy lives IN LONDON.

Genuinely awful.

On top of the political mess & ICE violence we have going here, most donโ€™t realize how cost-prohibitive US is. You can get a LOT-a lot more for your money in almost any other country around the world. If I lived elsewhere, I wouldnโ€™t ever consider US as a touristic destination these days.

A black and white dog lies in the floor at its owners feet. The pic is taken from the perspective of the owner. The dog's left paw is outstretched towards the owner, who holds it in her left hand. The dog gazes up at the camera (and the owner taking the photo) with a look of deep devotion.

Her new thing is asking me to hold her hand. Sometimes she doesn't want pets or scritches, just wants me to hold her hand for a while while she gazes soulfully into my eyes ๐Ÿ˜‚

I think everyone is sick of this, but no one will say so because of embarrassment. Itโ€™s not like I donโ€™t believe in tipping, I obviously do, but I also think anything over 20% for good service is too high & being asked to tip because someone handed you a pastry at a movie theater is just wrong.

20.02.2026 18:47 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 13    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Genuinely tired of being asked to tip at places where people are just doing their jobs. (Today? A movie theaterโ€™s concession stand.) This consumer-scamming culture is out of control here. โ€œWe wonโ€™t pay our staff a living wage, so you pick up the tab.โ€
Curious when this tip-shaming bubble will burst.

I love all 5, but the best Best Picture nominee of 2007/08 is ATONEMENT. & Joe Wright shouldโ€™ve been nominated instead of Julian Schnabel or Jason Reitman as Director

Sorry if this offends, but Iโ€™d absolutely kill for a melodrama this gorgeous, poetic, and actually soul-shattering these days.

Dunno man, everyone wants to talk Oscar stats and Oscar records and lack of women directors etc. But I guess the budgets are only allocated to those that the pubs approve of. Itโ€™s mind-blowing to me how THE MOST NOMINATED ARAB WOMAN hasnโ€™t been all over the headlines everywhere.

THE VOICE OF HIND RAJABโ€™s Kaouther Ben Hania got Oscar nominations for her 3 most recent features. Sheโ€™s the first Arab woman to receive three Oscar nominations, back to back. She is the only woman director nomโ€™ed in Intโ€™l feature. And yet, no pub I pitched to is interested in an interview with her.
