Badgers on tenners and otters on fifties,
Ferrets on fivers, yeah that'd be nifty,
Weasels on twenties, much better than kings,
Mustelids are just my favourite things

Hi. We are a small press, but we explicitly refuse to use AI at any part of the editorial/publishing process and it’s in our contracts too. All work is done by humans.

Ireland has had "sELf iD" for 10 years now and not one single issue that the media, government and anti-trans movement predicted has come to pass. Not one.

If it works in Ireland why would it not work here? No one who opposes it can give a good answer, because the real answer is transphobia

I don’t crave the grand gestures, or the loud declarations, nor the games people play to prove they like each other. I just need the hush of you existing near me.

The way your shoulder curves as you read in the afternoon light, the soft cadence of your breath smoothing the edges of the day.

Thames Water’s litany of woes in Oxtord continues with a broken water main on Rymers Lane, seen just after 6am this morning. The site has since been fenced off by ODS, the City Council’s direct works arm.

Fun fact: if you're buying from a creator on etsy, you can reduce their etsy selling fees from 6.5% to 2.5% by ordering via 'shopname.etsy.com' instead of 'etsy.com/shopname' or searching from the main site. It costs you the same but the creator makes more

Delighted with the local election results for Oxfordshire. Well done to my friends in the Lib Dems and Greens. Real endorsement of your hard work together in the previous administration

Just wanna point out that LibDem/Green Oxfordshire was the absolute centre of the 15 min city conspiracy and today the LDs have added 15 seats and the Greens have more than doubled so it’s hardly electoral suicide.

People like safe streets!

A lengthy comment including lots of citations about the business benefits of pedestrianisation.

Shout out to whoever made this citation-filled comment in the Oxford Mail comments section. Really here for it.

For my trans friends, I’m sorry for the shit the world throws at you. I hope things get better.

I have a zero tolerance policy for racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia or other bigotry. We’re all equally valuable. Everyone deserves to live as their authentic self without persecution.

Grandiloquent Word of the Day logo - Sepia-toned graphic with a baroque Victorian typeface and a pen-and-ink drawing of a scrynne.

Scrynne [skrahyn]
(n.)
- A wooden chest or casket, usually decorated with ivory or jewels and containing writing materials and sacred relics.

Used in a sentence:
“Since I started collecting the true and authentic nails of the holy crucifixion, I've run entirely out of room in my scrynne!”

There is a shameful British tradition of demonising disabled people. Why is Labour reigniting it? | Frances Ryan Ministers run away from a wealth tax and then concoct a punitive benefits system. They have made that choice and it’s immoral, says Guardian columnist Frances Ryan

Labour’s reported disability benefit cuts are not just about budgeting but a belief: paid work is a virtue (and people who don’t perform it deserve a worse life than everyone else).

I know a lot of people are boycotting Amazon, which is great, but it's hurting a lot of trans authors.

Trans authors: Drop links to your NON-AMAZON book listings/storefronts.

Cis people: Repost, boost, and, importantly, buy. Part of boycotting an evil corporation is supporting the alternatives.

I heard similar feedback from another friend about the silly voices etc. Seems unnecessary when there’s so much inbuilt humour in the script.
