Maybe I'm out of practice watching these meetings but I don't think I've seen such a patronizing tone from a board or citizen committee of council towards members of the public in quite some time.
Appreciate your coverage this evening, Joey

I'm not comfortable with your choice of language to compare people to rabid animals. I'm talking about encampments, which are *in every way* a housing issue. You can rephrase your comment if you'd like to engage further with me.
You might find it more effective to direct your frustration to the city's lack of public housing and the landlords that are hoarding property and jacking up rent prices.
Extreme and expensive enforcement won't fix the lack of housing and social support. There's no "help" available to accept now.
I'm tired of my taxes funding brutal and ongoing enforcement with no real solutions to provide shelter or support for my community. In October last year the city approved an additional 500,000 on top of their ongoing enforcement response funds instead of planning warming centres and other supports.
Pretty sure this is a lie, and over the summer folks were not allowed to set up tents at night. Is this not covering the city's enforcement over the past year too? The dump trucks are somehow a non-forceful removal??
Delegation Days may be over for #HamOnt Budget 2026, but heads up. Anyone who watched the GIC meeting on January 29 heard it. There may be a motion coming to pause the accelerated Cycling Master Plan. Yes, pause. During a safety and climate crisis.
“Public services aren’t just a budget line — they’re a lifeline for communities and families,” said Sharon DeSousa, PSAC national president.

November 15 marked a full three years in my role as Councillor for Ward 2. Every year, around this time, I write about another year gone by, what I’ve learned in this job, what people tell me when they see me at a meeting, stop me in the street, or share their thoughts with me in an email. #HamOnt

The Stoney Creek minor hockey sexual misconduct story became public because of the tireless and great work of TSN's Rick Westhead, who has repeatedly exposed the failings of Hockey Canada.
