Polly has been growing concerned because of how Gwen talks about her parents. Polly: Hey Gwen. Is everything okay at your home? Panel 2 Gwen sits in a chair in front of Polly's computer. They are listening to a music stream called "Anime Jams to Nap/Learn To". Most of Polly's video recommendations are for click bait and absurdly long videos that only play a looping noise. Gwen smiles and begins to respond. Gwen: It's... Panel 3 Gwen glances away. This is a moment where she thinks she might finally be able to mention something that's been on her mind. There is something she wants to say but she can't get herself to say it. Polly can tell that something is up from Gwen's sudden shift in demeanor. Panel 4 Gwen can't get herself to say want she wants to say. She shifts her focus to her text book. Gwen: It's fine. Polly: IT'S THAT BAD? Polly blurts this out without thinking.

Panel 1 Olivia and Gustopher are backstage in an auditorium. Olivia looks a little nervous but Gustopher is full of confidence. Olivia: Your part is coming up. Are you nervous? Gustopher: Nah, it's an easy short scene. Anyone can do it. Panel 2 Out in the audience, the families of the cast are watching the play. August is thinking to himself. August: I can't believe my son is in a play. I could never be brave enough to do this. Panel 3 The stage is shown. Hannah is carefully walking into the scene with a cane in hand. She was cast as the lead and has spent uncountable hours perfecting her grumpy face with her Papa. Gustopher has also entered the scene and is lighting the street lamps with a piece of cardboard representing fire. It was noted to the audience in the program that no actual fire would be used in tonight's performance. A relief to anyone who remembers the incident of 1995. Panel 4 Back to the audience, August looks up at the stage in amazement. He's amazed at how fast his son is growing. He's amazed at all the different things his son is able to do. Most of all, he's amazed at how his son is becoming his own person. He's doing things that August himself would have never thought to try. He has the potential to do so many things and he's already putting himself out there and doing them. One more thought forms in August's head. August: I'm so proud of him.

Panel 1 Douglas and Liam are doing their homework in the library. Douglas is struggling. Douglas: I keep getting the answer wrong. I can't do this. Liam: I'm sure you can. Panel 2 Douglas has reached a breaking point. Everything feels impossible and he has convinced himself that he will never be able to do it. Douglas: NO! I'LL NEVER FIGURE IT OUT! I'LL NEVER FINISH SCHOOL AND MY FAMILY WILL DISOWN ME! Panel 3 Overwhelmed with emotion, Douglas collapses onto his open book. He has resigned himself to this fate. Perhaps this is the moment his life falls apart. He does not believe there's any coming back from this. Liam is there and unbothered. Panel 4 Suddenly, Douglas has a realization. He bolts upright and realizes that he can solve the problem. All is right in the world again. Douglas: Oh... I figured it out. Liam: I knew you could.
