But I also started working on missing releases, UPC etc… too much. When what I need is at least the same content as TGDB but with a better organization.

08.02.2026 17:31 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I’m wondering if what I’ve setup to migrate from TGDB is not over engineered. My main goal is to stop having duplicate entries and group those under the same game as different releases.
08.02.2026 17:31 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I always check the code Claude produce, but to be honest the more it is on something I don’t do often (like website, admin interface) the easier it is to let it do what it wants. But if it touches some Swift, my eyes are wide open!
06.02.2026 10:45 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Once it has enough data to be usable, I’ll replace TGDB in Games with it, and allow users to submit changes or entries missing. That should help.
05.02.2026 21:42 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0And this is just for the games. I kind of have the same process for covers. But that’s a lot longer, since I’m aiming for quality.
05.02.2026 19:41 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It takes time. For each match I have an accuracy value, below 90% I need to review it. But the longest is the Japanese games, as the romanization is not always the same. Example, the SNES has 1749 games, with a lot being release in 3 regions. I had to check 60, and assign 400 myself.
05.02.2026 19:40 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I know I could just have get the TGDB data and try to clean them, but that it would still have been a lot of work, and no organizational gain. #BuildInPublic
05.02.2026 18:18 — 👍 2 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0The process is « simple », I get a JSON from wikipedia game list per platform (with titles, dev, publishers, release dates), it is then matched against the TGDB database. Once done I still need to manually match the one the process didn’t found or mismatched. #BuildInPublic
05.02.2026 15:28 — 👍 2 🔁 1 💬 2 📌 0But this is a long process.😅 So far I have:
- Dreamcast
- Master System
- 32X
- Virtual Boy
- Nintendo 64
- WonderSwan (and Color)
- Jaguar (and CD)
- Famicom Disk System
And currently working on the SNES.

At this time the app uses TheGamesDB, but I want to avoid depending on them too much. TGDB have region handling, but this need duplication, so I built a tool (thanks Claude) to help me consolidate entries, into a game + it's release. #BuildInPublic
05.02.2026 14:43 — 👍 3 🔁 1 💬 2 📌 0I've started the « you won’t finish this in your lifetime » task of building my own video game database for Games. #BuildInPublic
05.02.2026 14:32 — 👍 5 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0I just prompt as much as usual, and my Claude Code sessions just fill in minutes. But I don’t want to pay more and I don’t want to pay for multiples products. I just want to have what I paid for. 😮💨
21.01.2026 10:15 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Claude Code’s session limit was manageable. But the weekly limit is a pain. The issue when coding like this (on tech I don’t fully know) is that I'm kind of unable to continue myself, when the limit reached. Stuck.
20.01.2026 10:34 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I kind of disappeared, but to be honest this start of 2026 hit hard. 1st, it was planned, but it hurt nonetheless, I’m out of job, company closing. 2nd, it happens while I see what I enjoy doing disappear, and I’m not sure I’m ready to spent my time managing LLMs. We’ll see what the future holds.
19.01.2026 18:10 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I was hoping to finish #expedition33 in 2025. The final boss decided otherwise. I just can parry him enough 🥲😅.
31.12.2025 09:30 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Just finished a game of @alteredtcg.bsky.social with the kids, and this time I lost. I’m I quote: the biggest loser ever. I should remind them they “cried” the first time we played and I crushed them. 😅😄
21.12.2025 15:59 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I’m really wondering how I can make Games more known and useful for collectors. I know the app has flaws (which don’t?), but I’m sure it could be great for a lot more people.
19.12.2025 16:56 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Along with the OS 26 update for Tooly, I’m also working on a new tool, to help calculate inner corner radius. #BuildInPublic
19.12.2025 09:15 — 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0This is a new one for me, the app name is not my Bundle Display Name, which is Tooly, but the Store name. Hope this is just a TestFlight issue. Other app on TestFlight seems to have the same behaviour. #BuildInPublic

12.12.2025 10:40 — 👍 4 🔁 1 💬 1 📌 0I definitely don’t like the icon on iOS 18 with the Apple applied effect. But I’ll have to live with. #BuildInPublic
11.12.2025 17:56 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Since yesterday, Apple removed Xcode 26.0.1 from Xcode Cloud. So no more icons for iOS 18 and glass icons for iOS 26. I could install it locally, but I don't want to. #BuildInPublic

11.12.2025 11:47 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Nothing special, it is just a bit time consuming because, you need to setup the data, record the test, ensure you have the correct accessibility identifier or lookup for controls, but it works.
11.12.2025 08:46 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Fixed my UI Test to generate screenshots for iOS, and I've updated them in Sketch. Now I need to do the same for iPadOS. #BuildInPublic
