There's a campaign to rename the Nashville International Airport for Dolly Parton. I think it would be both a wonderful and very appropriate honor.

In June 2024 I took advantage of a sale price plus a free customization offer to buy a Yeti cup. But it never arrived. After a month, Yeti agreed it had been lost by UPS and sent a free replacement. Over this weekend, the original arrived, and now I have duplicate Yetis.

While in Arizona last month I drove up from Phoenix to Flagstaff for the grand opening of the new Astronomy Discovery Center at Lowell Observatory. Wow. You don't have to be a space geek like me to be fascinated by what's one of the best facilities of its type in the U.S.

Every committee is formed anew with a new Congress. Some members of a previous Congress' committee may be reappointed, but no assignments will carry over from the 118th to the 119th Congress. (30+ years committing journalism in DC means I know too much about thr sausage-making.)

A new Congress means a new Ethics Committee that would have to begin the process from the start. Now, copiesnofmthe old committee's unreleased report would give them lots of ideas on whom to interview....

I thought the "stuffing-flavored" potato chips were top of the list for Thanksgiving marketing overkill; then I saw that Starbucks is advertising a "Turkey Sage Danish".
