Spoilers for a short story from the 60s , but at the end of minority report John fucking domes the military guy trying to reinstate military government so that he can save pre-crime. Bro decides that the mutant panopticon is good actually. That's really interesting. Also no dick doesn't think that.

The woman who invented precogs also just has like , a greenhouse full of moving carnivorous plants for no discernable reason and also kisses the protagonist on the mouth unprompted. Not to mention it completely flips the ending and positions of characters in a way that makes it way less interesting.

There was so much weird sci-fi bullshit around that just completely distracted from the plot and didn't make any sense. It took the rather simplistic setting of the short story and made it one of those settings with too much for no reason.

The short story is so good and they just kinda threw all of it away. Like I know blade runner is similar in how loose of an adaption of a Phillip k dick story it is but consider this , blade runner isn't fucking stupid. Minority report is.
