Hi there. I promise I'm still around. I went to Japan, and came home right in time to dive into summer classes. Fall semester just started, and I am genuinely thrilled to be back. So excited to dig into this semester 💖

Exploring the basalt fields, lava tubes, and caves was both incredibly rewarding and extremely fun. I love being outside and exploring our world. I highly recommend visiting and checking out this incredible nature preserve!

Did you know that when you make your speech for class something you know a lot about, it's really really hard to shorten it to fit the time constraints?

Growing up in the mountain west is interesting because sometimes you accidentally infodump and write an entire paper about wildlands firefighting from memory and it's only 1000+ words later do you realize you lost the prompt you started with and gotta backtrack. But hey, shout-out to our fire crews!

My college has student-use whiteboards everywhere and we have one dedicated to a rotating course of good vibes, absolute chaos, and silly notes. It brings joy to the learning process ✨

I love college. I really do. But I am so excited for this 8-week class to end so I have slightly less homework each week 🥲 (that being said, my professor is lovely and I will miss her)

I love what I'm learning. I am wowed by what I am learning. I am definitely in the right program! But it took me a bit to figure out what that looked like for me. And in case you need to hear it, it's okay to change your mind and do something else. I hope you are passionate about what you do 🖤

As a natural consequence, my life revolves entirely around school right now. And honestly? I love it. I always loved being a student and it has been incredible to spend so much time expanding my knowledge. This was NOT how I was feeling a year ago before I switched programs.

When I made the decision to switch to my current major, it was done with the knowledge that many of the credits I earned beforehand wouldn't apply to my new program. This also created a situation in which I am operating a course load of almost 200% so my prerequisites stack appropriately before fall

I knew all this was going to happen. But nothing can really prepare you for what it feels like when the moment actually arrives. This is why we need each other and our communities. I plan to turn to them a lot in the coming years.

Grappling with the fact that college textbooks are just SO EXPENSIVE. Some of them are automatically covered by my tuition in ebook form, but it's difficult to reconcile ebook form with low-tech professors.
