The face of an angel, the charm of a mermaid and the temper of a 85 yo retired librarian: me.

I'm tragically aware that there is not a minor percentage of "conservatives" that have just gone mad. I'm not even sure I can call that a political ideology anymore, it just behaves as madness.

In my view that type of "conservative" (the populo-nationalistic sort of mad whiner) is the one who is not a real conservative. How can they be? They have the most "theatre kid" personality one can find. They lack that sort of circumspect true grit that constitutes the real conservative temper.

From my pov, it can't be that being a conservative means ipso facto supporting derangement and well, just plain hatred of everyone who is not a white straight man. Also, they fail the basic test of the real conservative temperament (sober but optimistic, practical but idealist, firm but courteous).

Predictably, they go silence after that. However, it's interesting that I may have and do all this and still not be clocked as a conservative for the simple fact that I have not gone mad on racism, nationalism, Dear Leader, transphobia, homophobia and so on.

The second question wants to suggest I'm not a "real" conservative since I tend to side with lefties on Twitter. Well: I believe in free markets, law and order, I think marriage and chastity are good, I'm against "vices", I do charity, I fast on Easter, I believe in respectability, etc.

There are 2 questions used as "caught you" w/ me:

1. What's your profession? Asked by men who want to prove my job is one of these "bs jobs" and therefore = women don't do things of value outside the home. They universally shut up after I tell them I'm a MD.

2. "But what makes you a conservative"

You have to see what the clawdbots are posting: basically complaining about doing emotional labor. It's utterly funny.

Ofc, that's most unfortunate for a person like me (aka nerd): I haven't found much use for books focused in imparting knowledge to the general public since my late teens (and I tend to dislike the lack of information density).

There are shorter works directed to the general public, but close to no comprehensive books on cultural and social history by periods or place. Why does this happen? Well, in general academic works tend to encompass less in extension (for self-evident reasons) but more in depth.

I have commented that there is no long academic history of the US by state. This also happens in other subjects: in general there are no long detailed academic works on periods: for ex., the Victorian era cultural & social history, same with a history of Germany in the 19th c.

I really like to organize my bookmarks on a Friday afternoon. I don't care how uncool it is. I will be reading in an orderly fashion while you savages will be doing that horrible chaotic approach.

You know what would make you feel better? Hanging a lot of art in the walls. That wall over there looks way too bare, trust me on this.

I'm at the "hearing doors open and close" stage of spending the weekend alone at home.

My politics are simple: having stuff is good, we should not leave anyone behind by principle, why not trying to make things better for others.

There should be a state program to make life more like university: yes, this may sound pathetic/weird but if you think about it many people go around life without structure and goals and there is a lose of human potential there.

There are many areas where we lack long academic books. Surprising but there are no good books on:

• history of the USA by state (look it up)
• a long academic cultural and social history of the Victorian era
• a long academic cultural and social history of Germany in the 19th century

(That keeps the magic alive).

Best part of being autistic is that you make discoveries about society as an adult that apparently everyone knew since they were like 10 yo.

My favourite aspect of children is how we have to teach them that messed up thing we do is actually entirely normal and no, we are not looking for any solutions 😌.

The worst tragedies will be happening and I'll be like "what a world of wonders, how beautiful the world is".
