www.simonsfoundation.org/grant/pivot-... - a terrific opportunity for a cross-disciplinary focused postdoc training
🌿Behold the chameleon vine, Boquila trifoliata, so called because of reports that it can change it's leaf shape to mimic plants it climbs on. Why, how, and to what extent is largely unknown and hopefully we can start to answer those questions. Gotta keep it alive first! 🌿
🗣️ Reminder: @fwovlaanderen.bsky.social FWO-funded 3y #postdoc position deadline tomorrow (10/03/2026) 🐸🧬

🌿 Postdoc opportunity in plant evolutionary ecology/genetics!
My lab in the Dept. of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to start Fall 2026.
We study plant adaptation, using weeds as model systems.

Pls RT!
Congrats!!!
Excited to share our new preprint! 🍇🧬
We analyzed 639 genomes across 48 grape species to understand how hybridization drives adaptation.
• ~14% of average Vitis genome is introgressed
• Most parallel adaptations are shared via gene flow
• Two "hybrid species" are actually hybrid swarms
I don't know how the US will recover from the effect this will have on an entire generation of early career researchers. Devastating.
🌾 We have an open postdoc position in Plant Genomics in our group at HHU Düsseldorf!
If you enjoy computational biology, asking big questions, and the satisfaction of code working on the first try, check out schneebergerlab.org/career/
Apply by Mar. 31 | 3-year postdoc | German skills required
This seems like a really great initiative! If you know any Trans scientists who might be interested in joining a broader community, please pass along!

Excited to share our new paper in @molbioevol.bsky.social , led by @galenm.bsky.social !!! We show that mutations affecting RNA secondary structure in *Arabidopsis thaliana* are shaped by selection and linked to gene expression and the environment.
