Ok so, a bunch of events here in Argentina use AI for their flyers... and it pisses me off so much.

I get that for people who're not close to the arts, hiring a designer or an illustrator to do something for your event sounds like something crazy expensive. But these flyers just look plain horrible

Fortunately I'm part of the #CriticalRole fandom here and we have an event coming up with a couple #DnD one-shots, which was the perfect opportunity!

Guess how much each of these flyers took me?

I'm not a great illustrator, and I have zero graphic design training. But I wanted to know what kind of money these people were saving up.

So I wanted to try and do some flyers of my own.

We did speed painting techniques this week in the mini class, which obviously have their place but... painting them with a bit more patience is wayyy more fun to me

Any publicists, event organisers or podcast hosts who've felt a bit frustrated when an author doesn't reply to your lovely email - please bear in mind that recently we've all been bombarded by so many weird, sycophantic AI scam emails that every message feels a bit Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

I'm having the same experience as an artist who tables at fairs. So many messages from random bots clotting up the inboxes, I almost missed an event's selection email🫠
