Anyway, I'm gonna try to wrap up Enterprise S1 tonight and probably return to what's left of Discovery S4 later this week.

The episode lengths for the new Star Treks are a small gripe as far as me goes. I am however slowly adapting to the production changes.

Bingeing through Enterprise is giving me some clarity that certain established shows do need more airtime, but regardless of that, I'm grateful ST is still here.

While the 10-episode restrictions for the new shows may affect pacing, especially for ones that really need more than that (16 episodes > 26 is acceptable in this case imo), 10-episode seasons aren't entirely bad for shows like Lower Decks and Picard, & their respected 5 and 3 seasons.

Anyway...

Discovery started strong with 15 episodes in S1 but later seasons suffered with pacing due to gradual decrease in episode count, at least based on my viewing experiences.

I think that's partially why I'm struggling with watching the episodes bc I don't want it to end so soon.

To clarify: I love Discovery as well (close to finishing S4) and I know I'll enjoy Strange New Worlds.

My problem with the current Star Trek shows is not the content, but the duration. I grew up watching ST and other sci-fi shows in the default 26-episode format.

It took 21 EPISODES but so far 'Vox Sola' is the most interesting episode of Star Trek: Enterprise's first season in my opinion.

Having said that, I am enjoying this ST entry's attempt depicting Starfleet's early exploration beginnings.

Funny I'm having an easier time bingeing this over Discovery.

I decided to give Star Trek: Enterprise a 2nd attempt despite not returning for re-watches in 20+ years.

Admittedly, I never watched all of the episodes due to finding the show mid then, but I did see the series finale when it 1st aired, sadly.

With a clean slate, I'm appreciating ENT more now.

After finally accepting the reality of things, I've decided to unfortunately not partake in this year's NDNartober prompts.

This month alone will be very busy for me anyway given I'll be spending the majority of it with my fiance as our quality time is something we both need right now.

Ugh, too lazy to resume work on my NDNartober stuff tonight.

Given I have the weekend off, I will begin playing catch-up first thing.

Besides, I REALLY need to get out of this belated art funk haha

I'll put it this way:

Even after earning the Platinum trophy for Elden Ring: Nightreign, I still play sessions with friends and randoms because, unlike my former friends ala Portal 2 then, I'm not a goddamn philistine and enjoy certain multiplayer games primarily because they're hella fun.

That was how I got it for free on Steam then.

Unfortunately, my co-op experience was short-lived and soured due to former friends only asking me to join their sessions just so they can grab specific trophies instead of actually playing co-op with me in a fundamental manner. Still pisses me off, lol

Update: I at least got the pencil sketches for Days 1-3 done and I will begin work on those sometime tomorrow.

Right now I'm gonna take it easy for the rest of the night.

Starting to feel a little better.

Hopefully, I will begin working on those promised #NDNartober drawings tomorrow, starting with the days I missed due to my current cold.

This has always been one of my biggest fears given my own disabilities.

However, I know I'll struggle if I lived on my own, unless aided by sober relatives and loved ones, especially given my family's substance abuse history.

ATM I'm grateful I have my fiance who understands and is there for me.

I did a similar thing for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine earlier this year ever since Paramount disbanded their DEI efforts.

Probably also gonna do the same for the other Star Trek DVD/Blu-ray collections at this point, just to be safe.

Guess I'm buying Sense8 on Blu-ray now.

I should better do this soon before Netflix capitulates to these right-wing dipshits.

Once I get paid next time, I'll probably purchase Super Mario Galaxy 2 given I already own the 1st via Super Mario 3D All-Stars physical.

Thankfully we have those autism pills to help with this headache and overall achiness I've developed since last night, & to boost my neurodivergence further, lol.

Levity aside, I'm gonna hold off on making the art projects I've been planning on doing this month until I get my strength back.

Yes, I noticed I would go into those negative aspects once in a while and I admit it's a struggle to remain down to earth when my feed makes negativity the new norm.

Despite that, I will maintain my presence to be a safe & calming one. We need both for these strange times.

I needed to remove some people from my following list just now. Despite the goodwill they radiate, it's obvious some of them live very negative lives and I don't want to be reminded of my Twitter days where it was nothing but that.

Nothing against them. I just prefer to live w/ a positive mindset.

But cis folk, ESPECIALLY a % of queer cis folk, don't care about that because they see us trans folk as inferior anyway.
