I’ve made the weekly grocery run and all I want to do now is make a cup of tea and sink into a comfy chair with a good book… but no, I have to take a dumb walk for my stupid health.
Wrapping up my long end-of-summer weekend with a trip to the exotic animal vet. And yet some people say I don’t know how to have a good time. 🤷♂️
They do seem to be unavoidable, but I smash the block button with wild abandon these days and that seems to help.

I forgot that “daylight saving” returns the time of year when it’s broad daylight while I’m getting ready for bed. It’s a price I’m willing to pay for a full evening’s light though.
As I was sitting here wondering why it was so cold, I realized we’ve reached the “replacing the skylights” portion of new roof day and the house is currently wide open to the outside world. Good times.
Nice to see couples out for dinner to celebrate the anniversary of the Battle of Cape St Vincent where a heavily outnumbered British force crushed the Spanish. Nelson captured an enemy battleship then used it as a bridge to capture another one.

Setting up your home office in the sun room is a great idea until it’s 10 degrees outside and it suddenly feels like you’re sitting in a meat locker.
A local cat periodically visits, but runs if it hears a sound and never seems to make an appearance if I leave food out. It clearly passed by last night.
