Yesterday’s journey - slower than men’s world record marathon pace.
The overflow at Moretonhampstead sewage treatment works discharges into the Wray Brook. It has been discharging since the 23rd November. That’s roughly 5.5% of 2024 in one spill.

Sunset even! 🙈
Yes, I was actually banned from a local Facebook page for pointing out the poor water quality! “We don’t want to put tourists off.” Thank you for your kind words.
The good news - the evenings start to draw out tomorrow with sunrise getting later every day until next June.
The bad news - it only starts getting lighter in the morning in the first week of January.

I’m an angler but I also swim, snorkel and SUP. There’s a whole new magical world beneath the waves.
Rough out there in the easterly wind.
Thank you that’s a really great list.
The storm overflows at Heathfield and Moretonhampstead sewage treatment works started to overflow early on 23rd November. They are still going strong.
The evenings start drawing out from next week so that’s something to cheer.
Berry Head managing a 96mph gust - it has a 91mph gust on 27/11/21 in similar NWrly conditions. It is quite exposed to this direction.
The relatively calm centre of #StormDarragh captured well on the latest radar sequence ('L').. things will change there today though as winds increase, and the NW gales continue to pound the W and SW of the UK
Thank you - we are working hard behind the scenes to create a sustainable organisation that will add value locally. There’ll be plenty of opportunities to help us in the future.

South West Water’s Brixham fiasco keeps getting recycled, damaging our tourist economy repeatedly.
Received this twice - irritating! However, wind will be with us for a week as it swings north and then later becomes an easterly next week. Even when it eases we will still notice it here.
