Character design is like magic, you’re doodling away and all of a sudden a person appears. And then you start to imagine a whole life that they’ve lived and a world that they live in.

I’m designing a little lore/guide book about the world I’ve been building over the last couple of years. It’ll include character info, locations, items and abilities etc and I’ll be treating it like it’s a video game of some kind. Nothing to share yet but I’ll post bits as I go!

IMO, creating derivative work isn’t as bad as people make out a lot of the time. I like a lot of art and media in general BECAUSE it is derivative of other works I love. It’s good to have a balance of work that feels fresh and work that feels familiar.
