Scored some B-C grade chanterelles on our every other month H-Mart visit. Making mushroom stroganoff so visual quality don’t matter, but excited to have the opportunity to #cook with them! We prefer this version to beef, so this will only make it level up a bit more than normal.

Working on another plant stand but this idea is trickier than I’ve tried so I’m going slow.

Working on a new #houseplant stand! Going for a sort of road side shrine to a road side deity of some sort. Trying to make the shrine seem otherworldly so I’m gonna likely do a blue iridescent wash over the gunmetal. The back will look like a normal rock, acting as contrast to the front face :)

I set the #houseplant stand I made aside for a while before checking to see if it needed any final touches before sealing and I’m ready to commit. Happy spooky season!

The final color on the candles! Love how this turned out. Remembered basic color theory lol

Ended up cooling them down a bit with a grey and grey/green mix and they look much better! Just gotta let the paint dry before weathering. Gonna do a lighter green mid tone and a highlight coat

I’ve been struggling with doing art lately so I decided to make another spooky #houseplant stand in between meetings today. Not happy with the colors on the candles, but I was trying something new!

I donated a kit to my wife’s work for a charity auction and it’s hit the retail price already! She works in a nature heavy organization so I’m hoping to drive some terrarium party bookings through that.

Had a successful event today, sold two DIY #terrarium kits and had some great conversations. I’m trying to book my first terrarium party so I’ve been hyping that but no bites yet. #smallbusiness #terrariumbusiness #wasmallbusiness

This is part of refocusing my attention towards my #artbusiness to support my star product: the terrarium kits. I sat down to take a long hard look at what I was doing, my short/long term goals and how I was serving them. Surprisingly I was just floundering. The refocus has sharpened my focuses!

Working on a #handbound jar #terrarium #journal prototype! Got the binding part down, now to finish the design work for the pages and find a printer!

My familiar is increasingly ingratiating herself into more things. She’s been more stand offish her whole life and now as old as she is (we think 17, she won’t tell me) she is acting more curious and affectionate.

A) this marcgravia umbellata is so happy in this #terrarium B) I love these jars I got at Daiso. They look look like the more expensive ADA jars (weirdly discovered these first) I have some diamond hole bits and these jars are very inexpensive so I may try to drill some test jars for ventilation

Ah… NYC it’s been too long. Waiting for my ride back to my hometown for a brief, sad visit.

My familiar realized that the #houseplant grow closet is now accessible to her so she decided to take advantage of the free heating.

Aw crap I started messing around with #airplants because I miss home a little. The natural beauty of Florida at least. Not the other stuff. The other stuff is why we live in Washington now.

I wasn’t able to keep the mother ZZ Plant alive but I threw some stems, leaves and the final living piece of the mother in a bin. One plantlet from a stem cutting and the mother rhizome is just chilling out with no new growth. She’s in her healing phase.

Finally clearing out #houseplant #propbin I’ve been neglecting for months and came upon a few surprises! My favorite being this short king aroid from a mystery box cutting almost 2ft long. And then this raven ZZ plantlet that started from a stem cutting.

The photos do not truly represent how large this colony had gotten. These guys are my first truly burrowing #isopods, so I’m not used having to dig dig them out. Every strata had just massive amounts. Gotta find proper containers for them for my upcoming table!

My relationship with art lately has sucked. Everything has sucked the life force out of me and I haven’t been able to make time to doodle or sketch. So I just find the days that I can draw cool things and I keep them close. A cat skull from internet reference.

We've also been informed that they are now going to sit down with him with crayons and go over the WA state laws so he doesn't mess this up further. It's very seldom I win in cases where the side with all the power overwhelms the side with the least. I'm glad for once for a little guy to take a W.

The people conducting the inspection were some higher up people involved in the rental management side because they realize their client has stepped over a line. They were here for 17 minutes before leaving. They admitted to my partner that he's been intolerable. Overall a great result.

I am so immensely satisfied we have been able to prove to the management company that yes the home owner is an asshole, yes you all have generally been acting like assholes and oh yes we're clean, amazing, on time paying tenants. Why are you messing with good tenants in 2025? #tenants #renting

The cooperative I'm a part of is holding a pop-up next Saturday, 9/13! I'll be there selling my DIY terrarium kits alongside a bunch of really cool vendors.

It’s so central to my family (it’s at our dinner table!) that I wanted to make sure it reflected what I wanted it to, not my depression (a dirty tank with troublesome things inside)

It’s crazy to me what good #driftwood does. I’ve been cobbling together smaller pieces to emulate larger pieces, so this is my first proper big piece of driftwood while #aquascaping. Honestly all I got to do was dot #epiphytes on it and stem plants in key locations.

The wood was foraged from near a lake and was prepared by throughly soaking and then baking at 200f for a few hours to sterilize it. It’s anchored by being superglued to a rock!
