The 2022 US Trans Survey has finally been released. It was a record survey of 92,329 trans people in the United States. It paints a picture of both tremendous project and extreme levels of discrimination and violence against trans people.

So, PSA, the funds from this GoFundMe that were gathered for my roommates and I, in collaboration with Nexus Moving Company (the organization that assisted us in escaping Iowa), for the explicit purpose of paying for our expenses during the move, most importantly housing, are being withheld from us

As a result of these funds being withheld, we couldn't afford to establish ourselves, and are on the verge of being homeless yet again, but in Portland this time.
Which is, admittedly, a kajillion times better than being homeless in Iowa. But still. Not great.

The only reason we didn't sooner is because we found this out while our now roommate was in the middle of being moved here with us, by Nexus. And Nexus is apparently, according to their history (which we were finally made aware of), 100% liable to ditch someone mid-case.

We haven't received any of those funds, have been informed we aren't going to, and have been struggling to find permanent housing since we arrived here, without assistance.

I don't have children (yet, unsure if I ever will), but other than that...yes. I literally do all of those things.
And those aren't even gendered tasks. Anyone can do them, man, women, nonbinary, a genderless mascot costume come to life. Anyone.
