I’m the subject of a @mrjamesob.bsky.social legendary ‘hook and tease’ ™️🫣 Is this better than the Ray Liotta? It could be?!
Planning to be in the fantastic medieval Painted Room at The Commandery, Worcester this weekend doing book signings.
Spent all afternoon wondering if Will, son of John, the winner of the Ray Liotta on @mrjamesob.bsky.social Mystery Hour today is a relative. I mean he must be from the same Langley stock as we all descend from it I’m sure. From now on, only Langley’s to win a Ray Liotta. New rule, ok?
@mrjamesob.bsky.social shiny new copy straight out of the publishers box, on its way to LBC 😊
My new book is out! Published by Pen & Sword, available in the usual places.

Hi 👋 I’m just dragging myself back to social media and found this comment , and got all excited! Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever been that happy!
finally well enough to return to social media, and I discovered I’d never finished my wedding video from 2024! #adhdproblems
please do give @nerdofhappiness #youtube a like if you want biennial videos!
content is educational, rather than commemorative.

Not well at the moment. My baby girl sent a daisy up to me with her big sister. She’s not one for sentimental gestures usually.
Massive thanks @mrjamesob.bsky.social for talking about ‘A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court’ this morning! I’ve been trying to remember the name of this film for a while now -and now, I am watching the Michael York version, so very happy.I’m sure it’s why I’m like I am. I loved it as a kid.
Awesome. I got us back to Anglo Saxons ;-) and I think I’ve got some big discoveries on how the class works. I’ll email :-) screenshot is for you, summing up how things are here.
Stay safe, you’re marvellous.
Been off @bsky.app whilst i finished my book. It’s turned political. Where have the cats and books gone? Why did you bring the outside into this beautiful sacred place. We know it’s bad. That’s why we are here. We know what they are doing. This was the haven from it
Goodness I got riled when he said that! I ranted at my five year old. Shame we don’t have it as good as medieval women…
End notes. I’m still doing end notes. Haven’t even got to the blurb…
Same. My degree was psychology. But I think most medieval history we are ‘taught’ is the Victorian ideal of how it should be, with added “made for tv” stereotypes-with no logic or consideration to how people really live. Particularly women and children.
I’ve noticed in my research into the Langley family that there’s logic to the land acquisition too. Each of their “bases” across the family is about a days travel from the next. That’s not coincidence. Also none of the places are called Langley. That’s just an added layer of fun.
Working on book #illustrations today. This has taken all day. It hopefully shows #medieval animals in #wychwoodforest.

Works for me.
I’ve got two kids, 11 yrs apart and home educated. They have unrestricted screen time, as I don’t believe it’s a thing. They have unrestricted book time, play time, sleep time… anyway what hurts kids most is when their self esteem is low. iMO. That’s when they are most vulnerable to bad stuff.
What about putting a trans female into the toilets where all these predators are? Is that safer? Or does she somehow deserve or ask for trouble? How about trans men, where do they go? Does he know they exist as well or are they ok? How about we let people use bathrooms in peace? Same with disabled.
Let's review another youtube video by The Infographics Show, yes that lot again... they have 14 million subscribers.
This one is called:
How Did Bubonic Plague (Black Death) Actually End?
It was seen by almost 5 million people...
Can you see the first error already?
I’m going to finally buy your book today because you are an actual masochist, and hero.
I’m not sure if there’s an official answer, or an official Robin Hood-but I live near Loxley, Warks and when I drive past there I think of him. This is because Robin Hood Prince of Thieves is the best movie ever made.
Thats giving Ladybird “the elves and the shoemaker” vibes
I did six references into my end notes today before I broke and had to come back to bed, but I did remember to email myself my work AND had a really lovely conversation with @turiking.bsky.social about a box of bones.
All with Astra sat on my knee eating a dippy egg.
I’m so glad for the second part as I felt my stomach knot up!
It’s an old picture because he’s in doggy heaven, but this may amazing rescue Apollo -a puli/pumi, already geriatric when I got him. He Liked to pull me towards people smoking weed on walks, preferably if they were in alleyways; would only eat if I spoon fed him. The opposite of an assistance dog.
Xmas has started:
5 year old doesn’t believe in Santa, wants ‘peace and quiet’ off him for Xmas & the Nativity story is ‘so funny. Babies don’t want sheep presents’.
My eldest refused to believe as he ‘never published his success criteria’, and has to smell the decorations before they go up.

This is what home education looks like here:
1) many trips to wales, to collect rocks and to visit castles.
2) Big one comes with me to exciting things as they’re my carer and so is my voice, gopher and responsible adult
3) working together or side by side with small one
4) exploring the arts
