6. Gained some SEO and ASO knowledge
7. Learned how to use LLMs effectively
8. Made some stupid decisions like paying a fortune for an Instagram reel which resulted in zero outcome.

It hasn’t been easy I must say… I think I can call it the most busy year of my life 🙂

5/6. Here's a quick list of what I've accomplished so far:

1. Learned some Flutter (I'm a backend developer in "real life", btw 🙂)
2. Built an app for iOS and Android
3. Created a website
4. Integrated the app with Telegram
5. Developed a Google Chrome extension (just released yesterday!)

4/6. Soon I realized that those first downloads were mostly due to the App Store's bump for new apps. Five days later, a long period of near-zero downloads began. So, I started researching ASO, SEO, building a website, and reading you all guys to figure out what to do next.

3/6. 4 months later, I released the app. I still vividly remember monitoring the very first users and watching the first receipts being scanned with the app. It was such a weird feeling, but exciting. Real people actually downloaded and used something I built, can you imagine that?!

2/6. I still have my 9-to-5 job, and I still enjoy it, actually. I really want to reduce my dependency on it though.

It all began with a ChatGPT session. I pasted in a plain, unstructured text from a receipt and asked it to convert it into JSON. I remember being completely blown away by the result.

1/6. Today, one year ago, I started my indie dev journey. It feels like a good time to sum up some results.

Some of you might be surprised, but I've been working on a single product the entire year. It's currently at only $83 MRR, but I'm still pushing forward 😅

Yeah, that's the prevailing idea. However, I often hear you need an exact match, or even "we have no idea how it all works" 😀

Let's say I want my app to be searchable by "expense tracker", "spending tracker", "budget tracker".

What's more efficient as App Store Connect keywords list:

2. expense tracker,spending tracker,budget tracker

Just use an LLM. Send your app-specific language file in English and ask it to be translated into any language you need.
