"Defense" is the worst euphemism!

Always European despite the Brexiters.
"Defense" is the worst euphemism!
10.02.2026 17:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'll tolerate him for the rest of his tenure; he's doing some good stuff at least. But he's dropping the ball on other important things, notably environment, and I don't see currently how he can expect a second term.
05.02.2026 20:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am one such, and despite voting Labour all my life (last time to ensure we were rid of the Tories!) I will now be voting Green unless something changes radically. Now I hear that the government is cutting overseas climate support so I am pretty much done with them.
05.02.2026 17:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Really despicable. Another brexit benefit, no doubt.

The one at the bottom should be full of black spots and mouldy!

21.12.2025 17:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0About time too. It's a shame it's taken so long. Now let's formally rejoin the EU!

My latest blog on the continued attack on nature from this misguided Labour government and why they are listening to the wrong advisors.

Labour seem determined to wreck whatβs left of our natural world. So many broken promises.

Thank you!
26.10.2025 22:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I miss Facebook. Sadly they disabled my account for no reason and without a chance to appeal, and require intrusive detailed biometric data to create a new account. Which I refuse to give them!
24.10.2025 15:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Good thanks! Still Facebookless and likely to remain so: I tried to open a new account yesterday and they require a detailed selfie video. Well I don't trust them with my biometric data (security risk) so we are at an impasse so to speak.
23.10.2025 06:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This what weβre up against. Our essential natural world (and us who wish to defend it) portrayed as traitors and blockers.
Oh MHCLG youβve got this so wrong.
Iβll say it again NATURE IS NOT THE REASON FOR THE HOUSING CRISIS - fix whatβs really wrong and stop blaming wildlife for your failures.
The planning and infrastructure bill being rammed through parliament is a full-spectrum assault on nature protection. Rushed out, without consultation or evidence, under an βurgent measuresβ procedure, usually reserved for defence or public health emergency.

If he now admits it was a mistake why doesn't he take immediate steps to undo it? Much of the UK population want to rejoin and most view Brexit as bad, plus Starmer needs a popularity boost so it would seem to be a no brainer.
07.10.2025 06:47 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sums up Badenoch's leadership rather well, don't you think?!
06.10.2025 15:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's very upsetting to hear :(

Lyrics to Midnight Oil's "Shakers and Movers" come to mind, as well as the lyrics to "Progress":
