A lot of this can be chalked up to declining media literacy and the insistence from fans that writers align perfectly with their expectations and headcanons. Creators do not owe you anything. If you disagree that much with the direction that a show is taking, simply stop watching and move on.

I've bore witness to many similar events in toxic fandoms over the years, yet it never ceases to amaze me the extent of online viewers' inability to engage with media in a normal way.

You can critique media without being parasocial; it should never morph into personal attacks on the creator.

Just don't. The idea that Copilot or ChatGPT are suddenly essential tools is just buying into the corporate ad blitz.

Games were made just fine (well, relatively) up through...what, 2023? 2024? They didn't suddenly become VITAL for budgets or design docs in the last 2-3 years.

Zero tolerance is the ONLY and FITTING response to genAI being used in production of media.

Sure, you might think it's too harsh. Sure, they might've only used it for early stuff in development, etc

Listen, it's not even a SLIPPERY slope, there is NO friction at all unless we speak out against it.
