I think the President musing about killing people "just for fun" would have resulted in every major paper demanding impeachment in the before times.

Pretty staggering that the FT Trump interview opens with ‘if NATO doesn’t help us sort this mess, there’ll be problems’ and ends with ‘Russia might be helping target American soldiers, but really that’s sort of fair enough - we started it’.

A point we make in this story is trump and his ruling party and minions like Vance, Miller, Hegseth, Rubio et al spent more than a year doing the most cartoonish form of being a dick to key allies and others as possible— tariffing insanely, threatening to invade a NATO ally for no reason, and…

YouGov agrees to change poll results after Farage criticism

Extract:

YouGov has agreed to change the way it publishes its poll results after Nigel Farage accused it of underplaying the popularity of Reform.

The pollster has consistently placed the party about five percentage points lower than rivals on voting intention surveys because it questions people on how they are likely to vote in the next election as well as which party they broadly favour. The analytics company says this method produces more accurate results by taking into account tactical voting.

The firm has agreed to publish data relating to both lines of questioning after the Reform UK leader claimed it was breaking transparency rules laid out by the opinion polling watchdog.

Anthony Wells, the global head of politics at YouGov, wrote to Farage: “While data from the voting intention question without a constituency prompt is not part of our published headline figures, we are happy to include this in future published tables.”

….

YouGov asks people how they would vote in their constituency in a general election, as opposed to rivals who ask only which party they favour. The pollster defended its methods last week, saying they produced a more accurate picture of voting intention.

Farage criticised YouGov’s decision not to publish the underlying data about which party people favoured at a national level. He claimed this broke polling council rules which say that if people are asked two questions that produce substantively different answers — in this case, how they would vote in their constituency and which party they favoured — the results of both questions should be published.

A leading pollster from another firm said: “This is a pretty major shift from YouGov. From an industry standpoint it is definitely welcome news.”

A YouGov official said:

“We switched to asking specifically about constituencies prior to the 2024 general election, and… found this significantly increased our accuracy.”
Favourable opinion polls can help parties to gain momentum as well as attract donors who are keen to back a winner.
That YouGov showed a slimmer lead for Reform over Labour, the Conservatives and the Greens than other surveys angered Farage, who relies heavily on donations.

For the past six months, Reform has attracted more private donations than any other party. Farage will increase those efforts in his campaign to become prime minister at the next election.

“YouGov agrees to change poll results after Farage criticism”

(Times headline)

So, populist grifter MP who can’t be arsed to do his constituency work, has a full-on tantrum about polling, in case - by giving a more accurate prediction - it impacts donations to his party.

How is this democracy?

There's a hauntingly beautiful irony in these morons thinking that carefully crafted American hegemony was actually weak and woke, and they would be the ones who would do Power and Dominance properly, and immediately bringing everything crashing down

Trump calls on China, France, UK and others to send ships to keep strait of Hormuz open

Dear Europe,

Please help me to unshit myself.

In return, I will harm your economy with tariffs, and insult your leaders, your cultures, and your military.

Kind regards,

A very stable genius

Many Countries, especially those who are affected by Iran’s attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending War Ships, in conjunction with the United States of America, to keep the Strait open and safe. We have already destroyed 100% of Iran’s Military capability, but it’s easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine, or deliver a close range missile somewhere along, or in, this Waterway, no matter how badly defeated they are. Hopefully China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and others, that are affected by this artificial constraint, will send Ships to the area so that the Hormuz Strait will no longer be a threat by a Nation that has been totally decapitated. In the meantime, the United States will be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian Boats and Ships out of the water. One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Days after declaring total victory and boasting that no other military could match the US, Trump is now begging other countries — including China — to send warships to stop his Iran war from spiraling into catastrophe.

A galactic humiliation.

Jeez. I thought I had seen everything but this! It’s almost impossible to believe it has actually just been posted by the White House. They’ve just presented the horrors of war as some kind of sick video game. Shameful, disgraceful, obscene and utterly horrific.

“Elon Musk’s Tesla given go-ahead to supply electricity in Great Britain.” A subheading underneath says: “Ofgem licence means firm can replicate Texas setup of powering homes, businesses and EVs.”

Ed Miliband must step in and bar Tesla from holding an energy licence.

Elon Musk is a threat to our national security and clearly not a fit person to operate in our energy industry.

We can’t have the lights go out because he’s having a strop on X.

Americans can all rest easy knowing that while this fresh Mideast war may lead to asymmetrical terror attacks throughout the world and on U.S. soil, and household budgets will be strained to a breaking point by doubling the cost of filling a gas tank, the suits at Exxon and Texaco will be just fine.

A graphic showing Arlene Foster and text saying:

Former DUP First Minister Arlene Foster wants to take money away from the poor & the disabled to give more money for war

“I think what we need to do now is ramp up defence spending. I absolutely think the money needs to come from welfare.”

WE SHOULD BE RAISING WELFARE PAYMENTS NOT USING OUR TAXES FOR MORE BOMBS

A quite disgusting suggestion from the former First Minister 🤨

Brexit costs the UK £90 billion in lost tax income every year,if we didn't have Foster's Brexit we could keep supporting those in need while also ramping up defence spending

We are just begin to get an inkling of how deeply embedded Peter Mandelson and Tony Blair were/are with the sinister rich. Every time you think you've seen the worst of it, something else emerges.
