14.02.2026 21:15 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Finished Iroduku: The World in Colors
Beautiful drama with an odd plot. Hitomi can't see colors due to emotional trauma from her youth. She, as a mage, travels back in time and begins to slowly bring color back to her world with her new friends.
I loved it but wish the ending gave us more closure.
I watched Sirius The Jaeger. I love Anime set in the Taisho period, the fashion and clash of traditional Japanese architecture and Western influenced buildings and general infrastructure just looks so cool to me. As a Vampire show there is alot of fantastical elements too. I had alot of fun with it.
12.02.2026 16:25 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0the last week of my life have been their two albums on repeat haha
glad you like them Sean :)
So I have a goal to watch everything P.A. Works has ever made
For along time there was a significant obstacle in the way but no more. I watched the Horse Girl Show aka I watched the first season of Uma Musume
And actually it was alright
Repetitive and a little weird, but yeah it was pretty good
Started February with a long overdue watch of P.A. Works highest rated work Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms
A beautiful film amazingly weaved together by Mari Okada, as she so often does
Brilliant fantasy with a truly wonderful story. Highly recommended if, like me, you haven't seen it yet
I had this problem when watching graphic novel collections. I do not give a shit about Marvel and DC but man alive finding a good collection video that isn't just endless amount of Batman and Spiderman stuff is a real chore.
11.02.2026 10:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0apologies for hijacking this post and going off topic BUT Sean you have to listen to this band. I know people inundate you with recommendations and crap all the time. But seriously you have to listen to this.
Castle Rat are a Doom Metal band inspired by Frank Frazetta and it really shows!
I had the opposite problem of not knowing how to stop after a match. It just kept placing me into a queue straight after lol

Sony have done so much damage to the Physical Anime Business. Starting over a decade ago with Aniplex of America with their price gouging and gatekeeping of titles. They closed the biggest publisher in Funimation and then the biggest store in Rightstuf. Everything they touch has made it worse.
10.02.2026 10:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Damn that was quick.
10.02.2026 00:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The Second Season remained fun but I enjoyed it a little less. The main characters are great, the villains honestly not so much for me. The whole Plane/Exam arc was pretty funny though. What came after not so much tbh. Definitely a good show though and I recommend giving it a try. 8/10
09.02.2026 22:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Next up I jumped into Sakamoto Days, I was pretty hyped for this show as I remember the Manga making a big splash and I loved the whole concept. I didn't realize quite how traditionally Shonen it was but it was a good time. The comedy was really solid and the animation was great. Also the OP is π₯π₯
09.02.2026 22:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Next I jumped into My Home Hero which damn was this series tense and very dark.
Guy kills his daughters abuser and then tries to get away with it.
It's a fascinating, uncomfortable and kinda ridiculous ride.
I loved it but also hated the feeling of watching it.
Final scene is π
I watched Catch Me at the Ballpark! which as a baseball themed Anime was obviously high on my agenda. It was an absolutely delightful, charming and fun little show. Basically just a slice of life workplace drama for employees and fans of a Baseball team. So chill and I loved it. 9/10
09.02.2026 22:04 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Mieruko Chan was my next January watch.
This Horror Comedy kinda frustrated me as it never really progressed beyond Mieruko seeing creepy thing and her trying to ignore it.
Every time it got close to revealing more about what was happening it would turn away and make a joke instead.
A fine 6/10
Now I need the soothing tones of Maurice LaMarche to narrate their story for me.
08.02.2026 23:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So is Red Lobster a restaurant chain for just Lobster? That's wild. I mean we have fish and chip shops but I don't think there is a national chain for them or any seafood. Though tbh I don't get out enough to know for sure.
Only had lobster the one time but it was pretty good. I love seafood.
I've been buying alot of Artbooks and Soundtrack CDs recently and I've put alot of focus on P.A. Works stuff as they are my favourite studio.
In need of abit of a pick me up I returned to rewatch Aquatope on White Sand, which is slowly becoming a Top 10 ever series for me.
Please Watch this gem!
Next I watched Leviathan from last year
This alt history sci fi fantasy set in and around WW1 absolutely captivated my imagination
The Darwinists use bio engineered Animals in battle while the Clangers use Machines and Mechs. CG was fine imo
!Joe Hisaishi OP!
I watched it in one sitting. 10/10
I've not watched it past the first couple of episodes so far. It's supposed to be one of the stronger Sunrise Mecha shows from the 80s. Ryousuke Takahashi directed it, he did Votoms, Flag, Blue Gender, Phoenix etc.
When Discotek Mecha titles go OOP the price goes sky high so FOMO wise go for it lol
Okay tbh this OP was partly why I watched this show lol
But a few eps into this arc and I was done honestly.
Personally when a show with a truly unstoppable main character who is invincible like Mash is all the tension is gone. Everything is a joke and the serious shonen battles fall flat imo.
So I don't like magic focused stuff, have legit never watched Harry Potter and also disliked One Punch Man.
Why I chose to watch Mashle? No idea really lol
The One Punch Man humor isn't really my thing but I liked the odd joke in this show. Osmosis carried me through the Harry Potter references.
Yeah I had a crazy January, still a few more Anime to share that I've watched this year and I just finished another earlier. I wanted to do these mini posts and share the OPs like a diary for myself as much as anything. Just took too long to start.
What have you been watching this year?
Yeah Insomniacs After School is on my Sentai wishlist, nice it has a dub now. I'm really interested in it but as someone who has suffered really bad with insomnia in the past I feel cautious about watching it lol.
07.02.2026 23:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have to share the fact that the Boo Radleys did the ED, which is just so random and wild to me. They had a massive one hit wonder with "Wake Up Boo!" in the 90s which every Brit knows if you lived through it. Can only assume that someone searched the word Lazarus on Spotify and this came up lol.
07.02.2026 14:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So I watched the latest Shinichirou Watanabe project Lazarus.
This really did seem to just come and go didn't it?
I honestly quite enjoyed it but I feel like you can always feel the weight of Cowboy Bebop around Watanabe's neck with each new thing he makes. He can't quite recapture that magic.
Oh yeah that was a good episode. I do wish it had more of that. Laid Back Camp really focused on camping in a way this show didn't quite do with the photography. The mangaka was more or less the main character in the end. I loved the Laid Back Cameos in I think ep4 or it was.
