Oh you bet they did!

Art does not get easier the better you get at it.

Making art is hard. Making art is fun. Making art frustrating. Making art is passion. Making art is a lot of blood sweat and tears.

And I love every moment of the process.

I did not find anything offensive with the old guidelines exactly the way they had been phrased when I initially made an account here on BlueSky in 2023. I read every ToS and upload policy for any platform I join before I make an account. This community was welcoming, open and gave a great deal of space for creative freedom. A blue sky was an accurate description. Your claims to be making it a healthier space for the users is doing precisely the opposite with these new changes. You are doing harm to the community you are trying to cultivate. Harm specifically to people like myself because while there may be content I don't care for all over the internet and occasionally in my feed here on BlueSky, I wholly appreciate creative expression, free speech and the desire to allow others to write, draw, paint and make music-- Or any other creative venture for that matter-- On their own terms without censorship. I find it is extremely harmful to attempt at picking apart consent, harm or mental wellness within artistic medium. If a picture is worth a thousand words, there will be a thousand interpretations for the same image. No two people are going to see these depictions the same way and any of them can be interpreted poorly depending on who you ask. This is only doing harm to your community and your users. Some of whom use this sort of content to heal from these same issues rather than avoiding them. If there is something I don't care to see, I am an adult. I can choose to block creatives who make that content. Or keywords that link this content. I do not need someone to hold my hand and make these decisions for me. Everyone has this ability and you should be encouraging your users to use this right. Not restricting those of us who understand this right by eliminating our choice.
