He investigated #mentalhealth issues among #migrants in #Australia. He also taught postgraduate public health students and gained popularity among #students. The most interesting thing is many of those Master of Public Health students also shared the same stage of graduation ceremony today!

It was the proudest moment for me as a #supervisor to see my #PhDstudent, Dr Pritimoy Das, graduating today from Federation University Australia.

Pritimoy, a medical doctor and a public health professional, completed his PhD as an international student from #Bangladesh.

I also showcased the research projects on smoking and vaping of my #PhDstudents, Dr Masud Salehin and Dr Naima Nimmi, and our #MPHstudent, Dr Nicole Coombs. The discussion generated interest for future collaborative work to improve the #health outcomes of the Gippsland population in #Victoria.

We had a good discussion on the issues of #smoking, #vaping, #tobacco, #qfever, #publichealthworkforce, #adolescents, #healthcarerprofessionals, #healthpromotion, #policies, #practice, #advocacy etc.

Thanks to Ms Lisa Maatsoo for being the MC for the event and Ms Deanna Jarvis from our engagement team for organising the event nicely. Thanks to all the attendees who made time to attend the session and engage in the discussion.

My speech was followed by an engaging panel discussion with the panellists from GRPHU and GippsDairy. Our appreciation goes to the panel moderator, Associate Professor Alyce Wilson, and panel members, Ms Karen Mc Lennan and Ms Alisha Brooks.

We had a wonderful Federation University Australia Innovation Breakfast event today at Morwell Innovation Centre at Gippsland, where I was privileged to present as a keynote speaker. The event was organised in partnership with the Gippsland Region Public Health Unit (GRPHU).

We had a wonderful Federation University Australia Innovation Breakfast event today at #Berwick, where I was privileged to present as a keynote speaker. The event was organised in partnership with Monash Health’s South East Public Health Unit (SEPHU).

I am honoured to be recognised once again in the World’s Top 2% Scientists for 2025, marking my sixth consecutive year of inclusion. In my specific subfield, I have achieved a ranking within the Top 0.1% of Scientists. I am very proud to represent both FedUni and the @publichealthaus.bsky.social.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to the organisers, Iconic Trade Australia and ABA Wyndham, for their outstanding initiative in acknowledging the contributions of diverse professionals within Australia’s multicultural communities.

The event welcomed numerous councillors from Victoria and NSW, the Deputy Mayor of Wyndham City, and representatives from various multicultural communities in Australia and overseas.

It was also a privilege for me to share the stage with other remarkable #community leaders, including the legendary singer from Bangladesh, Mr. Naquib Khan, as we celebrated his extraordinary 50-year journey in music.

Being recognised in such a #multicultural forum is truly meaningful, and I hope this inspires other professionals in our communities. As with any award, it brings additional responsibilities to strive for even greater achievements in the future.
