Named him for missing the penalty but not scoring a goal…

I think it’s poor, personally. But have a feeling I’m in a minority #THFC

Too much time supporting a club is spent moaning - moaning about players, moaning about managers, moaning about transfers. But great players doing great things enrich our lives, make our weekends. Son made weekends better for me. It’s been a privilege & a pleasure to watch him

But yes, Son was more loyal - admirably so!

He was arguably the best striker in the world who spent ten years playing for a team who didn’t win anything (and weren’t really showing much ambition to change that). In that time he made one pretty half-arsed attempt to leave, but didn’t even really rock the boat then

Both legends, in my eyes. But each to their own

My gut feeling is this will be a chase too far for England and that India will win by 150 runs before the rain comes late today. But I also have a nagging feeling that this series deserves the climax of England, needing 15 to win, sending Woakes out at No11 to bat one-handed

Not keen on Spurs fans using Son to have a dig at Kane. Fine to have a favourite, and Son is a warmer, more engaging character (plus brilliant footballer). But did Kane really lack loyalty? Take the blinkers off and I’d say he was arguably too loyal for too long

I love music but wouldn’t count myself as a β€œmuso”. Only really had one band on my bucket list and got to see them last night. It was as epic as I’d hoped it would be

Remind me when I’m wanging on about football in October that Test cricket is the greatest sport of all sport

I like Kudus but it would smack a bit of Spurs just doing the easiest (and probably cheapest) deal. Eze, Mbeumo and, to a degree, Semenyo are all pretty sure things - Premier League proven and first XI ready. Yet we’ll take a punt instead to save a few quid

Think the fact England have knocked off 371 on a day-five pitch against an Indian attack featuring one of the all-time great bowlers and there’s no great hoo-ha or surprise tells you all you need to know about this England team. They’re not perfect but they’re very, very good

I could do a thread summing up where I stand on the Spurs manager debate but Gareth has done it perfectly here. This is exactly where I’m at

There’s so much football now that I struggle to crystallise what’s happened in the past month, let alone past year, but that game up there with the 2022 WC final and 2x 2019 CL semis as one of the best of the modern era?

Would’ve taken that at the start. But next week is going to be horrible. Need to hope Maddison and Solanke are fit

We fell into their trap, and lost the game because of it, but I’m not buying the idea last night was some sort of Nuno/Forest masterclass. They gave up 5-6 clear chances and were hanging on at the end. Our poor finishing let them off the hook. That said, we were so naive first 20

Hints of Gazza about Morgan Rogers - the direct running, change of pace and blend of skill and strength. There are lots of very good No10 type players in England at the moment but think his skill-set is unique among them

There’s a miracle road to Bilbao on which this all turns around but, no matter what happens - and as much as I was one of the more patient fans who wanted to see this play out - it’s absolutely wild that Ange is still in the job

Get new manager
New manager makes brilliant start
At last, we’ve moved on from Poch
Things take a turn
Fans flirt with Poch
Poch flirts back
Ryan Mason.

Rinse. And repeat.

Also, the chip-on-the-shoulder interviews and press conferences are starting to irritate me - he’s had a fair crack from the media and a relatively easy ride from the fans (we were 4th and calling for Conte to go)

I like Ange, and I like the idea of Ange. And I’m still not sure there’s much point in making a change until the summer. But Tottenham losing 15 out of 29 Premier League games is an utter embarrassment that, I’m afraid, is his responsibility

17.03.2025 07:54 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The same people complaining about that Spurs starting XI would be the first to complain if Van de Ven or Maddison ended up getting injured in what is - as frustrating as it may be to have reached this point - essentially a meaningless game
