Being a dad isn't easy ☠️
That's fair too... Unfortunately
He's in his mean teen phase i guess...
Same 🥺🥺🥺
It really is a lose-lose here, it breaks my heart ngl
Hard choices 😭
Lmao, true, i just found it very funny 😌
Yep, exactly 🥹
Lmao, sorry, he has been injected with Djinn DNA when in the hands of Bianca and co, just like Elinor did, but then got bitten right afterwards, so he turned into a hyena and not a deer 🙈 Does that make sense?
We'll have to sort this out one way or another, or else how am i to have a gen2 👀
Truly this is my favourite thing that happens in this story at this point, like how does he always end up there at the worst times 😂
Lmao, Isi knows it can hold her if Rory made it 😇
But already, Rory was by her side.
“Want me to come along?”
Isi’s heart stopped at the thought of what had happened last time they’d been in the city together. At the memory of a gun pointed at the alpha.
Yet she couldn’t refuse the backup either.
“Isn’t that also the last place she was spotted?” Isidora questionned.
“It is. Why? Think it’s a trap?” Rin’s eyes didn’t leave hers. She needed backup. Not delays.
“I’m not sure. We’ll have to be careful.”
From the corner of her eye, she saw Jero get up from his chair.
Surely, he was about to ask her once again if she’d tested that ability since becoming a wolf.
But before he could, the door flew open.
“DORA!” Idrina’s face was tense. “Marven called! She located Bianca in Del Sol Valley. You said you’d come with me this time?”
“Does your singing voice have power, like the mermaids?”
“Merfolk” Adelyn corrected, not even looking at him.
“It doesn’t. But I did get the mer kiss thing, where they turn you into one of them. My dad was always very mad about that.”
Wolfgang opened his mouth and Isi braced herself.
Another silence. She could almost feel their friends resisting the urge to look over at Rory in question. Isidora decided it was better to keep going and added, trying to change the subject:
“Other questions?”
Jero quickly reacted and Isi would never tell him, but she was extremely thankful.
It came from Lily. “If mer struggle having babies, does it affect the hybrids as well?”
The silence that settled as Isi gathered the strength to put the words together dragged on too long for comfort.
“I don’t know about the other kinds of mer-hybrids, but it would seem Sylkes are sterile.”
“Not exactly.” Isi tried to stay impartial when discussing her shortcomings. “I’ve got scales, when immerged in water. Sometimes, I can hold them back for a bit. And alike many other occults who alter their form, when I do, I heal.”
She turned around, expecting the next question.
“The usual setup for mer/human hybrids is that of humans becoming Muds and impregnating males under water afterwards. In my case, it was a mer coming 𝘰𝘶𝘵 of the water and impregnating a human woman. The result, me, lived on land.”
“Do you have a mer form, like Rin?” Ade sounded hesitant.
“Essentially, we’re the exact same. My mother decided to alter the name slightly because it’s unusual for mer to reproduce out of the water.”
“Because they have fertility problems?” Jero asked, remembering something from a previous lesson.
“In part, yes.” Isi answered.
Only a couple of minutes later, they were both back in the small room, Isidora in front of the board, ready to tell everyone what they needed to know.
“So. Where do you want me to start?”
“The word Sylke?” Wolfgang suggested.
“Oh, yes! Is there a difference with Selkies?” Lily pondered.
The awkwardness of these situations was mostly gone nowadays, so Isi simply lifted her head, a hand on Rory’s neck:
“Remind me to thank you for everything you’ve been doing, later?”
“I will.” The tone was playful. Sure. “Now come on, you’re the one teaching the class today, remember?”
But of course, as if he was always meant to interrupt them when they tried pushing their luck in this library, Wolfgang came to knock on the door to the meeting room they’d hidden in.
“Girls, we’re all waiting for you in the classroom downstairs…”
“Coming!” Rory answered.
Quickly, they were testing the strength of the table by both leaning their weight onto it, the kiss deepening.
Rory kissed her neck, lowering her body on top of Isi’s and they both sighed, content. This was the life they’d always work hard to protect. The moments they’d cherish.
“By any chance, did you soundproof this whole place like you did our house?”
“I did.”
Isi smiled. “Good, because I think you need extra congratulations.”
Pulling her in for a kiss that wasn’t hiding what it was a preface of, she felt Rory’s chest vibrate in the near purr she loved so much.
Isi couldn’t help gushing over the work that had been done as she was taken to every single room to check it out. This was truly such an improvement for all of them who used this building. As Rory was about to drag to yet another side of the improved library, Isi held her back.
A couple of weeks later, the library was officially deemed renovated. Rory was almost jumping in place, dragging Isidora through the doors.
They’d kept the spirit of the place, as it still had the bones of an old factory. Yet the space was completely different.
“It looks amazing!!”
