I enjoyed my time at Sheridan. I still can't in good conscience recommend that program to anyone while the industry is in the state it's in. If someone's motivated enough, they can teach themselves animation for free. They'll probably still be unemployed, but the lack of debt will be nice.

Had a revelation today. I was wondering why the The Horton Hears a Who (2008) score reminded me of Ecstasy of Gold by Ennio Morricone. Then I realized that composition also belonged to a scene where a character is looking for a needle in a haystack. It was an intentional homage. Movies are cool.

Being able to adjust colours without going back and recolouring every frame is so handy. I will never use any software that doesn't have that feature. Harmony is fantastic. Andrew Prahlow music is also fantastic.

While I'm looking for a studio gig, I've been picking up some freelance work. Feels good to be working with other people again. Here's a looping space background I was commissioned to create.
