Magnetic faux porthole showing three dolphins looking in. The "porthole" is well below the waterline but close enough to it to show a glimmer of natural light illuminating the scene from the upper left. I guess people buy these and put them on their cabin doors when they go on cruises, perhaps to make their cabin door more unique and easier to find. I bought mine to put on my refrigerator so I can more easily distinguish it from my stove. It only cost me about five bucks - plus the price of all the Gorton's beer-battered fish that's been disappearing from my freezer!

Twin maple trees on a sunny and breezy day. The left one is more yellow, the right one is more orange. October 23, 2025
It turned out that the only time I saw autumn leaves with sunshine was a quick trip to the park after a long day at work. It was windy and the pictures were rushed, but at least I got to see them. A week later these trees were bare.

Kroger-brand table salt container. Holds 26 ounces of salt. The top is 3.5" in diameter. The salt is white and salty. In fact, it's just as white and salty as the much more famous Morton's salt. I defy a taste tester to tell them apart (even after I accidentally dumped half of the Kroger's salt on the kitchen floor and carefully put it back in the container).

Wool dryer ball. About 3 inches in diameter. I'm told that adding two to four of these to my clothes when I put them in my dryer softens my clothes, reduces static cling, gets rid of wrinkles, and speeds up drying time. All I know for sure is that when I run my dryer with them alone they make the sort of banging noises a toddler with a drum set might make on an off night. Which is why I now run my dryer much more often than I run my radio or TV.
