I love you Chicago
The thing that haunts me the most at night is that they're going to kill another person in the next few weeks. They're going to kill another and another and another and another until we fucking stop them
Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
The message is we will kill you and get away with it.
You’ve been lied to about borders your whole life
Justifications for nativism and xenophobia simply don’t hold up to scrutiny, as Minneapolis is showing the world
LATEST by me for PWS
“If you’re not a Zoroastrian, I’m afraid you are bound for Hell.”
The man looked amazed and shocked. “It’s not fair.”
The demon gave a mirthful laugh. “Well it was fair when you were sending all the Chinese to Hell who had never heard of Jesus.”

I had a revelation that my mom isn’t dumb, she’s just been fighting for survival her entire life until like 2017. Now I need to read books about it.
I saw a one I’d never seen before in our local Catholic cemetery
“It’s fun—a macabre sort of fun—this parlor game of “Who Goes Nazi?” … It’s an amusing game. Try it at the next big party you go to.”
Dorothy Thompson and I would have been friends.

But the frustrated and humiliated intellectual, the rich and scared speculator, the spoiled son, the labor tyrant, the fellow who has achieved success by smelling out the wind of success—they would all go Nazi in a crisis.

Kind, good, happy, gentlemanly, secure people never go Nazi.

“After all, when a thought takes one’s breath away, a lesson in grammar seems impertinent.”

(In 2000 I was 16 😬)
In 2000-2002 I was Fall Out Boy adjacent; I ran in a crowd that sometimes overlapped with theirs. I saw them in church basements, I had their first EP in a cardboard sleeve, we were all in a McDonald’s together one time etc.

No countries, no borders.

“I think that a lot of us are young apprentices who believe that we know our work at this moment except that we’ve never fully practiced that work because we’re afraid to make mistakes. We are learned people but lacking in practice.”

My grandmother once said this to me almost word for word, with complete belief and sincerity. It blew my mind.
