“What we’re trying to do is bring back laughter. This is about bringing back comedy the way it used to be. I think the only way to do it is you have to cancel the cancel culture"

Kesha denounces the White House’s usage of her song ‘Blow’ for a TikTok video of bombings:

“I absolutely do NOT approve of my music being used to promote violence of any kind… don't let this distract us from the fact that criminal predator Donald Trump appears in the Files over a million times.”

It's (not) funny how white people completely and purposely misunderstand what the joke is here. It's not about ableism, it's about racism. A BLACK comic at a BLACK event is making a BLACK joke to a BLACK audience about a very specific and literal case of racism that happened like a week ago.

Shawn Wayans finally came out of hiding. So happy to see him in a movie again🥹

After considerable soul-searching, I feel compelled to withdraw from the BAFTA emerging talent judging panel. The organisation's handling of the unfortunate Tourette's N-Word incident last night at the awards was utterly unforgivable. I cannot and will not contribute my time energy and expertise to an organisation that has repeatedly failed to safeguard the dignity of its Black guests, members and the Black creative community. This is particularly unfortunate given that this year's cohort boasts some incredible Black talent, especially one of my favourite shows of 2025 "Just Act Normal". However, when an organisation like BAFTA, with its own long history of systemic racism, refuses to acknowledge the harm inflicted on both the Black and disabled communities and offer an appropriate apology, remaining involved would be tantamount to condoning its behaviour. I hope BAFTA leadership comprehend the damage they and the BBC have caused and take the necessary steps to ensure their production staff are inclusive enough to prevent such an issue in the future.
Yours sincerely, Jonte Richardson

you know people have pointed out there seems to be a real lack of interest in addressing what it must have felt like to be a black man on stage on camera and to hear someone scream the worst racial slur at you.

No apologies to the Black people he called the N-word.

"Before the ceremony began a floor manager introduced Davidson to the audience and warned them they may hear “some involuntary noises or movements.”

In other words none of the Black people there were warned that they were going to be called the N-word on live tv while trying to talk.

The clip broke the news last night at around 8 PM EST and now, at 2 PM EST, John Davidson finally makes a statement?

And we’re supposed to to take this seriously? Fuck him and his team.

The "I'm offended that YOU'RE offended" train is never late.

I read in that piece a lot of calling for compassion and understanding …but not, of course, for the Black community. It never fails.

When your "apology" includes the word IF (as in "if you are offended"), it is not an apology.
