It makes me laugh someone was sleuthing and thinking they’re so smart by finally getting me, when they are in fact just an idiot who doesn’t know how anything works. The addition of actually complimenting my writing skills in English was the cherry on top.

When an article gets escalated like that the newspaper has to respond, not the comment piece writer, because the newspaper is responsible for publishing it. I didn’t even know this was going on, and it was dismissed anyway since it was clearly an opinion piece

I still think about that one time years ago when some losers online accused me of having a ghostwriter for my articles because:

a) my english couldn’t possibly be that good
b) because once an article I wrote was reported by some terfs and the newspaper and editor had to give responses

Apparently some people are upset Helen of Troy is being played by a black woman because it’s not “historically accurate”. You know, Helen the demigod, daughter of Zeus who hatched from an egg after Zeus turned into a swan and seduced her mother? Yeah, that Helen.

The essence, maybe, but it was mostly overshadowed by the ableism, racism, anti-semitism and misogyny.

It exasperates me when people talk of things like banning under 16s from social media. It feels like people don't understand at all how the internet works, and how easy it is to get past these sorts of regulation. It will never solve the real problem, and only creates further frustration.
