I could of course just use a full-blown wordprocessor like LibreOffice Writer or OnlyOffice.

I’m using Joplin and Ghostwriter, but wonder if markdown is ideal for longer writing requiring more complex formatting, images, tables, etc.

When I hear “free world” I think of all democratic nations regardless of race or religion. Is that not what is meant by the term?

It is indeed deeply concerning that the head of the major world power could write and send such a childish letter. It either is the work of a child, or of a deeply disturbed or demented mind!

I do all of my #writing on #Linux computers. I use markdown for short articles but I’m struggling to find the ideal software for long form writing. If you are a #writer and a Linux user, what is your preferred app for long form writing? I would love to learn from other people’s experience.

Mental illness is a whole host of disabilities that people manage and live with their entire lives. No need to casually equate it with evil & shocking. They are not the same thing.

I have set up a personal cloud using Nextcloud and my now redundant Mac mini, so my data is increasingly out of corporate clutches 🙂

After at least 30 years, I no longer have a #microsoft account. My next step is to #degoogle at least to the point that I can get by with a free account. My #apple account will take a bit more addressing, but its days are numbered too.
It feels very liberating!

I have just converted the Mac into a personal cloud server.

I converted to Linux a year ago after acquiring an MSI tiny PC from a rubbish skip. It needed an OS, so I installed Linux Mint. It now sits alongside a Mac Mini M1, which has almost become redundant. I choose the Linux option every day.

I do use AI at times, but when I invite it along, not with it intruding on everything I do. It is a tool, to be kept in the toolbox when not in use.
