Before I give an update on my state of rapture, were we all supposed to be yeeted at the same time or is it going by timezones?

What I don't really get is who is this GDC for? It feels like it's trying to target everyone and no one at the same time. And maybe I'm nitpicking, but the event deck really should be reorganized. Some of the most crucial information is towards the end. They should have led with the pricing change!

What I don't necessarily understand is the change to "festival". I enjoy a good party, but I'm not going to GDC to have a party. I'm going to network with other professionals, support indie developers, and hopefully have some sort of professional development and/or sharing of knowledge with peers.

This feels like a response to the feedback that most attendees found the activations happening around GDC more beneficial than the conference itself. It's also likely a required pivot (to some degree) due to the way the event paywalled so many developers out of being able to attend for years.

Been job hunting lately and it's killing me how roles are now 3-in-1. Community Manager AKA social media manager, video editor, graphic artist, marketing specialist, copywriter, voice actor and streamer. They expect you to have 5+ years experience, yet you're only getting entry level pay. 😭

Also I'm working on some activations for GDC and DreamCon, so don't think for a moment that this train is gonna stop. Derailed for a bit, sure, but still truckin' on. ✌️

I'm definitely looking for my next adventure in gaming, but I'm also really enjoying having a bit of time to rest. It's been fun reconnecting with my hobbies! Already signed up for a game jam and one of the Indie Game Academy courses.

Took a little bit of a break from social media to refocus on myself. Unfortunately I have joined the ranks of unemployment after being laid off @ Discord earlier this month. It's been a lot to sort through, ngl, but I'm proud of the work I did there, so I don't have many regrets. Which is good!

Took a little break from socials to enjoy the holiday with family. 😊 Heading back to the Bay later this week, but enjoying the snow and hot chocolate until then!

I've been debating replaying Inquisition first, just to refresh myself. Or do you think it's okay to jump right in? 😭

Got the itch to play games this weekend, but now I'm not sure WHAT to play. Veilguard? Sims? League? Marvel Rivals?? Supervive? I still haven't checked out the Fields of Mistria update either.
