I first took my sone to see AMND when he was seven years old. He laughed pretty much from start to finish. I said, "Did you understand what they were saying?" "Not much of it". "Why were you laughing?" "It's funny."

It was an important lesson for me. Don't worry about set up and punch, just laugh.

A little more seriously, I think he intended the plays to be written in air, disappearing without being recorded in prompt books, like an improv show in the 80s.

I genuinely think that he'd laugh at all the academic analysis (enlightening as it is) because he was an entrepreneur first and foremost
