I feel like it's p like this for a lot of indie devs if u release enough stuff... there'll be like 1 or 2 projects which outsell everything else which give you the means to keep making more stuff even if the other games don't do as well
Misericorde stuff

I love soft domestic scenes like this they're so wholesome π

Our Home, My Keeper is a cosy story about a writer who moves to the British countryside.
All isn't how it seems, however, when the doll our heroine receives as a housewarming present starts to speak π

It's only really an issue if your game is staggeringly unpopular so nobody leaves positive reviews to counteract the bad faith negative ones. OW seems to have a dedicated fandom so you'll be fine.
My VNs are all on Itchio already, and people have no qualms about being rude to me on there either.
You have to pay $100 for every game you want to publish on Steam, but once you have paid it you don't need to pay again for the same game.
it costs $100 to upload any game to steam, both paid and commercial games
tbf if the game is popular enough the handful of bad faith negative reviews won't do too much harm since it'll be drowned out by the positive reviews from people who actually read the thing and enjoyed it
but if the game is unpopular these negative reviews can have a pretty big impact though
This is also one of the reasons I don't upload more of my free VNs to Steam.
It's a hassle to release games on Steam in the first place, it costs $100, and there's a lot of unpleasant ppl out there who dl all free visual novels/lgbt games solely to leave hateful reviews
Makes me wonder why they even let developers flag reviews as being abusive if they do nothing about it
i reported the reviews to steam for being abusive and steam decided these reviews were fine and kept them up so there's nothing i can do π
i reported these reviews for being abusive but a steam moderator decided they were just fine so there's nothing i can do about it yay β€οΈβ¨
i have genuinely thought about removing this vn from steam even though it's one of my fav projects b/c it has barely any reviews so these negative ones actually have a huge impact
i don't want my passion project being a target like this π
no, there's no way to see that
this is a free vn though so it wouldn't make any sales anyway
like these ppl clearly did not read the vn and had 0 intentions of doing so, they just want to be insulting
