MCDOT is hosting a US 29 Flash Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Phase 2 public meeting followed by a Corridor Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting on Thursday, Aug. 28 starting at 6 p.m. There will be two parts to this meeting. • From 6 - 7 p.m., the meeting will focus on bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The topics presented and interactive activities will be the same as the June meeting. • From 7 – 8 p.m. the meeting will be the CAC meeting, which will focus on the preliminary design of the BRT facilities. • Both portions of the meeting are open to the public and community members are encouraged to attend.

NEW: On or about August 12 through August 29, 2025, crews will temporarily reduce Colesville Road to one lane in each direction between East-West Highway and Wayne Avenue between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. The lower-level bus entrance to the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit Center in Silver Spring will also be closed during this time. This closure is needed to install utilities in that location. Pedestrian access may be detoured around the work zone. Please follow on-site signage.
