What riles me about the insistence of TME people on drawing TMA people with features they assert are necessary to identify us like full facial hair and prominent adam's apples is that so very many cis men and TMA people never had those features to begin with (I know, I am one of them) yet we're 1/6

forced by these TME artists to carry these signifiers for our "identification" or "representation" while these very same artists draw cis and trans men without them in their vision of idealized beauty. It's not subtle, it's not an accident, it's just virulent hatred for us. And we know that 2/6

Useful note on portraying trans women: Shaving is a widely available method by which facial hair can be removed, which in many cultures is not only something people with facial hair can get away with, but actually broadly accepted. For this reason, it's commonly done even by closeted trans women

Hard to process seeing someone earnestly saying "I wasn't aware that facial hair is dysphoric for trans women" while also making a book with trans women in it. Like you don't need to be educated on everybody's business but why would you even want to portray a group with so little familiarity...

Like how do you even get into the topic of "this isn't even just about dysphoria, existing in public with strong contrasting gender signifiers is literally very dangerous" with someone with such limited view? Nobody, transfem or transmasc, is permitted to safely exist with tits and a beard.
