One feeling I want to be able to relive without recreating the situation that caused it is the feeling of finally flushing the glob of impacted earwax out of my ear. It was so painful before it was out, but no pain afterwards, that feeling of immediate and complete relief is like nothing else

As someone who’s not around babies and toddlers often, I love how they’ll just stop and scream for fun

My living room is weird, so even 160Hz doesn’t sound directional. The front speakers I have can go down to 60Hz before it rolls off, but I’m guessing the room muddies it up. I did do a sub crawl a few days ago, and there’s only really one good spot for low frequencies. It’s all coming together….

Just realised my receiver has a subwoofer crossover high pass setting, which is great. Having it at the right setting for regular crossover (80Hz) wasn’t working, so boosting the crossover to max (160Hz) sounds so much smoother and more natural, the bass is coming through without being overpowering!

I haven’t given them a real proper listen, just a few scattered tracks, the KEXP session and the selected works compilation, its enough to get me wanting to do a deep dive, going chronologically

The band HEALTH sounds like the shitty edgy music I listened to when I was 13 but good.

lol I got so frustrated with myself today that I did that before putting on an album. It took like, a while for my brain to accept that it is album time, but I got there by the end of it

It’s probably why I still don’t feel like my art is at 100%, I rarely get that flow state where art is just flowing through me and it’s fun and almost effortless

Man, COVID + TikTok has really killed my attention span lol. TikTok wasn’t really gripping me until after I got COVID. Like a bacteria entering an open wound. I really notice it when watching a movie or listening to an album, it’s really hard to switch into “focus mode”, and easy to break me out

I’ve had migraines before, I don’t think this is one. But some other stress related headache feels likely, probably a tension headache

Perhaps there’s something wrong if I’ve had this same headache since Tuesday

I wonder where the idea that Australia’s wildlife is uniquely dangerous comes from. Like, North America has their own equivalent of pretty much each species + bears, mountain lions, and moose.

So mad that since I got COVID in 2024, my ability to handle spice has been so much worse. Both heat in my mouth and in my gut. It hasn’t really gotten better, while my brain fog is basically gone, and even my ability to focus/do art is like, 80% back. But no, I can’t have Buldak anymore.
